Pikmin is kinda like a Real Time Strategy game, but instead of commanding literal soldiers and armies and such, you actively lead a band of little plant creatures called Pikmin that help you overcome odds and obstacles. The protagonist, Captain Olimar, is from another planet, and he is only a couple inches tall. As such, what humans normally see as tiny, harmless bugs on the ground are vicious, bloodthirsty beasts to Olimar. Pikmin, while strong in numbers, are unorganized and not terribly bright, rendering them helpless. Olimar, in the first game, crash lands on Earth, and the atmosphere is poisonous to him. By become a leader for the Pikmin, each helps the other to ultimately survive. I personally think its brilliant and engaging, but like I said, it's not for everyone. You should give it a rent sometime, though (they ported the first game to Wii; personally I think Pikmin 2 is better, but in the US its only on GC). Edited by Togeshroob, Apr 4 2011, 06:17 PM.

I'm guessing you never tried the original three Metroid games? They're not first-person shooters, only the Prime series is. And the Prime games are, in fact, first-person shooters.

I have never played any of the others in that series, but DIY lets you make your own mini games and its surprisingly in depth. You can make the music the graphics and sort out how the overall game is going to be played.

It does sound rent worthy.

Koopa Posts: 99 Group: Koopa Member #13,665 Joined: March 28, 2011	I can't think of anything Nintendo besides maybe Mario Party and Wario. I never did get into Super Smash bro Brawl. I played one of the first ones, and it was fun and all. Just never enough to where I wanted to buy it, or buy a Wii to play it now. I know it's been mentioned before, but Final Fantasy games never interested me much either. Or any real time strategy games.

It was good on the N64 and Gamecube, but it's slowly starting to lose it's appeal now. I have to admit though, that some of the mini games on the Wii version were pretty fun. Even thought this isn't Nintendo, I don't like the Grand Theft Auto series too much. I picked up GTA4 to see what all the hype was about it, but I found it a bit boring and repetitive. Sure, it can be fun to drive around and run over everyone, but that wore off after a half hour or so. Edited by WhatTheFruit, Apr 7 2011, 05:07 PM.

I actually enjoyed how the story was playing out, and I liked Niko. He's such a bad ass...but was cool about it. lol I guess I just got tired of driving all across the city getting from key person to key person trying to progress through the story. And you can't just plow through traffic otherwise you risk getting cops on you. Guess maybe it was too much like real life for my liking in that sense. Multiplayer was fun though. Everyone just piles into the airport to take the helicopters and do random stuff.

Modern Warfare series is good, Treyarch are stupid assholes, so that means world at war and black ops are absolute fucking retarded shitty games, but Infinity Ward made some amazing first person shooters...too bad people still act like mongs and camp, boost and play like dickheads in other ways...but i like call of duty, it's not for everyone i guess, and i half expect some "feedback" for my comments about shitty ops..
