1.the Forest Temple from Oot. I loved everything about it, it was mildly creepy with an awesome atmosphere, and the boss was one of the most challenging in the game in my opinion.

2.I know its kinda lame but my next is a tie between the first two dungeons as a child in Oot, the Deku Tree and Dodongos Cavern. For some reason these are just a blast to blow through. I love watching the King Dodongo freeze over, and there is something just epic about exploring around the inside of the Deku tree.

The only zelda game I have beaten is Oot obviously and i have played a little of almost all of them, so Im doing this to help me decide which one to play through next.

    In no certain order -

Forest Temple (OoT) - I played Wind Waker first, then Ocarina, and it wasn't until I reached this dungeon that I found myself actually awed by dungeon design. And I have only experience that twice in 3D Zelda. Not only was it brilliantly designed gameplay-wise - it was positively oozing in aesthetics and had a fantastic atmosphere. I loved how it was like some kind of deserted manor or castle... The architechture really made it thought provoking. Oh, and the music <3<3<3

Stone Tower Temple (MM) - this was the only other temple in a 3D-style Zelda game where, like OoT's Forest Temple, I found myself simply awed by the design. It was just so brilliantly laid out, put together with amazing precision. And just when you think it's amazingly designed enough, it flips upside down! Like the Forest Temple, this one also had fantastic aesthetics. The strange architechture and the awesome music made it really thought provoking as well.

I can't really decide on a definite third, but it'd probably be one of these -

-Tower of Spirits (ST) - Like the two mentioned above, I found myself awed by the dungeon design here - not so much by layout, though, as it was ingenious puzzles. Epic music, too.
-Tower of the Gods (WW) - Can you tell I have a thing for towers? This one I like mostly for its absolutely perfect atmosphere. Really captures a mood.
-Wind Temple (WW) - I honestly don't know why I like this dungeon so much. It was really clever, sure, but... I dunno. Teaming up with Makar, using Iron Boots + Hookshot, wind-based puzzles.... Good fun.

Honorable mentions go to Lakebed Temple (TP) for its ingenious design, and Forsaken Fortress (WW) for its creative uniqueness.

    1. Ice Peak Ruins (Twilight Princess) - I didn't think many of the dungeons in Twilight Princess were very difficult, but many of them were unique. Most—if not all—of the dungeons in the game felt completely different from one-another. Ice Peak ruins is by far the most interesting. It's literally a mansion. A mansion that two Yeti's inhabit. But it's also a dungeon complete with small keys, puzzles, and boss fights. It was so cool running around this household, completing puzzles, killing enemies.

    2. Shadow Temple (Ocarina of Time) - I love this temple because of its general sense of fear. At the time, I was never this terrified over a video game in my entire life. The frightening music, the disturbing enemy designs—I was completely unsettled for the entire duration of the temple. Then, Bongo Bongo. Sure, it was comically designed, but fuck did it ever scare the hell out of me. Oh, the temple was well designed, too. I love how the bottom of the well was like a stepping stone into the real temple.

    3. Stone Tower Temple (Majora's Mask) - Majora's Mask was a fine game—one of the best Zelda games out there. Definitely unique; it's not like any other Zelda game on the market. It also had some pretty cool dungeons. The Woodfall Temple took place in the middle of a swamp while the Great Bay Temple was a water temple full of gears and machinery. But Stone Tower Temple, though, was the best of them all. It was like two temples in one; once you were done with the first, the temple goes up-side down. The music was amazing, too. Honestly, it's the best track to ever come out of a Zelda game to date.

    - The Forest Temple (Ocarina of Time)
I loved this place. The "trial" to get to the actual temple was a lot of fun, and the actual temple itself is very well designed (both puzzle wise and visually.) I've always loved the danger areas of it as well - stay still for too long, and BOOM, a Wall Master drops from the sky and snatches you up. It adds a lot of tension to an other wise calm looking palace. Phantom Ganon was also beyond bad ass - riding through and attacking through the paintings looked super cool, and the entire atmosphere during that phase was very well done.

As I think of more, I'll post them. But I do think that the Forest Temple is my favorite temple amidst all Zelda titles.

I don't know about you guys, but I hated Phantom Ganon. Like, what an odd choice of boss to have at the end of the Forest Temple. The dungeon was really cool but why the hell is a ghost version of the main villain the boss of the dungeon? Why not something a little more forest-y. Like, maybe... I dunno, like a huge plant monster or something?

Not a big deal but it always bugged me. lol

Am I the only person who hates the music in the Forest Temple in OoT? It really annoys me. It's one of my least favourite Zelda songs. Hearing the part that kicks in around 0:17 (in the link that Togeshroob posted) over and over again gets on my nerves, haha.

Yeah, that was one of my least favorite dungeons just for the music also. I just wish that Nintendo would re consider if not just consider remaking the Oot in Twilight princess graphics. You'd probably get another 5,000 serious gamers as the least to play it due to it's intensity. That and the music following up on this post.

Er, lol, I hate to break it to you (actually I love to), but most of the fanbase hates Twilight Princess, art style included.

I think OoT3DS's style is perfect - like a vibrant anime, similar to the concept art.

Anyhow, LK reminded me of the Snowpeak Ruins in TP. Definitely a really well-designed dungeon. I agree with him about TP's temples; they all felt like they were a part of the world, like they had some kind of purpose aside from making the hero suffer.

It's not fair to say "most" of the fanbase hates TP - because that's simply not true. The fanbase is more than just 2 or 3 forums, and even if it were, it's not an overwhelming amount that it'd equate to "most." I know many fans of the series who loved the art style and the game itself (myself included) who have never been to any kind of forum, let alone a Zelda one. In fact, the Zelda club at our school (which, last time I checked, had well over 130 members) voted TP as the second best Zelda game, losing out to Wind Waker. It might be true that a large amount of online fans didn't like the game, but from my personal experience, the game isn't any more hated than Zelda II. Hell, my parents loved TP when my dad played through it, and they rarely like anything these days outside of Mario Kart.

@LK: Really? I loved him, and I think it served for a pretty interesting foreshadow event. I mean, it certainly made me think that the final boss would be riding a horse and shoot laser balls (which is partially true), but other wise, I really did enjoy it. I think, if they would've went with a huge plant monster, people would've thought of the temple as a "remix" of The Great Deku Tree's dungeon.

@Riddle: I don't have any strong feelings for it in any way, but I think it fits the dungeon, and it certainly has a very "forest-y" theme to it. Not like Final Fantasy forest-y, but like, tribal forest-y, which I thought was awesome.

But now that I'm thinking about it...damn. I actually liked all of the Dungeons from Twilight Princess, with the exception of the Sky Tower. But...I really like all of the dungeons from most of the Zelda titles....ffs. But I think Unicorn Cave stands out from a lot of the dungeons. It's in Oracle of Seasons, and it makes use of the Magnetic Gloves.

Ah, I guess you're right. That was a nasty generalization on my part. Heck, even I don't hate TP. Still, though, I don't think there's much denying that TP gets more hate than the average Zelda game (at least in the world of the Internet, which may or may not mean much). Oh, and just to clarify another wrong thing I said - it's not so much the art style that gets hate as it is the usage of color in cetain instances.

And your school has a Zelda club?! Good God Ice, if only I could adequately express my jealously in words! Also, that's lovely that they voted WW #1 <3 Usually OoT takes that spot in elections like that....

Well, I just don't think that the majority of the fanbase "hates" Twilight Princess - I'm sure a large portion of the online community might not think as much of it as, say, OoT, but I think "hate" belongs to the CDi titles, not TP.

Yeah - I go to a Community college. We have several video game related clubs, and the Zelda one is actually one of the smaller ones (as it belongs to the much, much larger Counter Gaming club). I haven't been to a meeting in a while, but the last time I went there, the lowest rated title that wasn't a CDi title was Zelda II. But that still has a....86 Approval rate I think?

Either way, though, I HIGHLY doubt they'd remake TP. But I'm still pretty stoked to see what Nintendo has in store for us. 25 years!

    Edit
OOT is third. I wasn't there for the poll counting (as I actually had a class during the time), but from what I understand, Twilight Princess won by about 3 votes. I personally voted for Link to the Past....but that came in 5th :/

Yeah, Nothing like the Japanese art to do away with the TP graphics! I personally thought that because Nintendo added the Japanese art graphics that it made everything much more classic and original. With the exception on the graphics of Ganondorf, whom i personally thought they could have done better with.

Seriously! I have played TP only briefly, and honestly I thought it was a great deal of fun, but the freaking color scheme drove me insane!! I feel like everything has this yellowish green tint to it that my eyes do not find pleasing. I also couldn't put my finger on what exactly about the visuals turned me off, but it really just doesn't have that classic look to it. I watched my dad play through one of the dungeons tho and it looked epic.
