Hey guys. I am seriously debating on whether to get a 360 or a PS3 as my next big console. I am pretty sure I will be getting thhe PS3, for the lack of pay-to-play internet and the fact that most of my friends have a PS3. However, this also means giving up games I was sort of looking forward to, which were Halo: Reach and Fable 3. I will try to survive without Halo , but one of my friends told me about a possible substitute for Fable 3. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. He claims that it is better than Fable. I did some research on it, and I have to say, I am impressed. Of course, I don't know too much about the nature of these games, so I would like all of you to tell me which one you think is better: Fable 3 or Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Of course this will probably not affect my decision on whether or not to get a PS3, but I just want to hear yall's opinions. Which do you think is better? (by the way, my friend used the term "Oblivion" when he told me the game, so I am guessing this is the right Oblivion, as it is the fantasy storyline as Fable) |

They're kind of dissimilar in both gameplay and setting, so it only really comes down to personal preference. Oblivion is one of my all-time favourites, although opinion is kind of divided on it. Opinion is similarly divided on the Fable series, although come to think of it, some people think Fable 3 is the weakest of the series. Man. I was no help at all. Oh oh oh! Fable 3 has better graphics, though. |

The original Fable is the only Fable I'll ever defend but in the case of II or III, Oblivion destroys them. They're not really similar in the slightest but you can't really ever go wrong with buying Oblivion. |

Personally I would say oblivion is the better game , it has to be one of the best games ever made . Bear in mind that the eldescrolls 5 : skyrim will be coming out on the 11 th november 2011 , which is looking to be very good . |

Two totally different games... but I'd go for oblivion since skyrim is coming out later this year. |

Also as far as I'm aware, Fable 3 is a relatively short game, whereas Oblivion will keep you occupied for hours and hours and hours. Although to be honest, I'd recommend the PC version of Oblivion over the PS3/360 version. |

Not all computers can run it though ( not the one Im using atleast ) though you do get alot of advantages ( such as the mods , plus the games are cheaper ) |

Yeah, I didn't mean that they were similar games, I mean that they both are fantasy. I do appreciate all of your feedback. Keep it coming! |

Not true. I spent over 40 hours beating the game plus an extra 10 or so afterwards. But to answer the question: go with a PS3 and get Oblivion. Fable III is an alright game, but it shouldn't even be an argument worth debating over; Oblivion blows Fable III out of the water. Fable II is a much better games than Fable III, too. But even Fable II isn't as good as Oblivion. It's one of the very best RPGs ever made. You can spend hours upon hours and not even scratch the surface. My buddy at work has spent nearly 200 hours with it. |

Wow. I am glad I asked everyone here. Now I know that I can buy Oblivion and not feel bad for not getting a 360. Now all it needs is Halo... ![]() Yeah, I do realize that, but still. I've already made up my mind, and I think by using this option, I am not missing out on the fantasy game type Fable has by not buying a 360. Edited by BonslyGuy, Mar 13 2011, 07:13 AM.

I think you should get a PS3 because it has primarily the same games as the Xbox 360 but also has better exclusives. Most if not all 3rd party games come out on both platforms, plus they're usually only on one disk on the PS3 rather than two or sometimes more on the 360. I'd also rather play Uncharted, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, The Last Guardian, and God of War over Gears, Halo, and Fable any day. |

I personally think the 360 has a few better exclusives than the PS3's many exclusives (I never liked inFamous and God Of War), but overall, I think the PS3 is simply better. Of course, if you're getting Bayonetta, don't even bring it near a PS3. Oh, and don't worry about missing out on fantasy type games. PS3 has plenty of those. |

lmao, halo and crackdown are about the only 360 exclusives that are worth playing.... I'd be here all day if I listed all the awesome PS3 exclusives. There's even more on the way this year (Twisted Metal, anyone?) |

Your choice i like my xbox and my ps3. Don't do it for fable 3, the game is garbage, beat it in 3 days and returned it the first one is the only one worth buying as mentioned by someone else in this thread. I personally have both and i recommend you choose the system that more of your friends own, i live in washington aka Microsoft hq and my dad works for microsoft so not getting an xbox wasn't really in option lol but i enjoy it. Exclusives on both games are alright i wouldn't count either side as having incredibly more then the other so just get which one suits your style of gaming better. Although i do prefer my ps3 over my xbox 360 nowadays.
Also this is how you spot a fan boy^.Someone who poses opinion as fact and says that there is tons of ps3 exclusives and fails to name them because "there's to many". xbox has 2 times the amount of exclusives as the playstation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_exclusives_(seventh_generation)#Microsoft_Xbox_360 Edited by Hellhoy, Mar 24 2011, 12:08 AM.
