I also think that other characters were over looked. Phoenix Wright, in my opinion, has a bigger fan base than Larry Laffer from Leisure Suit Larry. But, I don't know, really. So, what do you all feel about this list? |

Ash Ketchum, Naruto, Goku - they're all characters who started out from outside of the gaming universe. If that were the case, I'm not sure why Iron Man isn't on the list. But this is the Guinness one, right? If so, it's more of a popularity contest than anything else. I mean, Soap? Ghost? They have, literally, no character. I definitely don't agree with a lot of characters on that list, and I think a lot are missing. Where the hell is GLaDOS? Mr. Wright? Hell, I'm sure Layton is more popular than Jak at this point. List sux. The Top 3 were definitely no brainers. |

I tried to figure out what was the basis Guinness was using for this list, but I couldn't find such a thing. Maybe by Guinness they meant a bunch of people were drunk on Guinness beer when they made this thing.

GLaDOS not being on the list and Zelda being below characters like Jak (I wasn't aware he was ever popular) and Nathan Drake makes me wonder who exactly they polled to make this list... Also, not a single Touhou character. Outrageous. |

Well, for the record, Zelda has rarely had very much actual character given to her, and even so, Link got #2. But the lack of Layton and/or anything related disappoints me greatly. List sux x3 |

Have you played an Uncharted game before? Nathan Drake is fucking great character. Though, yeah, I disagree with lots of the overall list. Ghost? Like, from Modern Warfare 2? How? He has like, 6 lines, then dies. AMAZING CHARACTAAAAR!!!!1 |

I definitely second that. We should make our own list.

Gameinformer did a list of the decades most influential characters, and while it's still lacking some key figures (and it has some odd inclusions), the list is far more accurate than this one. But then again, I suppose the question is the most important part of the list - what comprises top? Is it the most influential characters? Or the characters with the best "character" to them? Or is it simply our favorite? Because if it's influential, Pac-Man, Mario, Master Chief, etc will still be in the top 10, but if it's our favorite, the list would be different. I think we should make a list, but it'd have to be different. Maybe each of us would state 10 different characters we like; the one with the most statements would be #1, and follow in that order, until we get to only 1 statement for each character, in which we could just toss them into an "Unsorted" area. And it would be nice if people put why they like the character, not just the name. |

I think that would be a great idea! When I get some time, I'll start a thread and stuff.

Naruto? Ash Ketchum? Goku? *snorts* Wow... did they seriously put anime characters on the list just because they have game adaptions? What a fail list... And I agree with the lack of GLADoS, Phoenix Wright, and Layton. |
