So this is the PSP2. Like with the previous generation, Nintendo and Sony are giving us two VASTLY different machines. Twin stick support and touch screen support (on the back and on the front, which is odd but sounds cool) from Sony, and 3D, Dual Screen support from Nintendo. No price yet, but you can bet your ass it'll run you at least $300. Not exactly the coolest looking machine, but I'm definitely impressed. I don't think any screenshots were released, but apparently this thing sports PS3 quality visuals.

Holy cow, this thing is going to be incredibly expensive. I'd say probably $399.99 with all of that crazy shit in it. Which makes me think—who is Sony aiming at with this device? Parents are not going to buy this for their kids—it's just way too expensive. It doesn't seem like they're going after the casual market, either. Dudes with iPhones are still going to buy their $1 games on iTunes and be perfectly fine. Do they think that the crazy tech inside the machine will psych people up? It seems like the same story as the PS3—ridiculously high tech, too much money, no one buys it. I don't know.

But I'm fucking sold, though: UN-MOTHERFUCKING-CHARTED!

Oh, and the games look fucking amazing. Did you see Uncharted!? Holy fucking shit.

    I can't find it :(.

Apparently it's pretty easy to port over PS3 games to this thing, so in the future, expect to see "Available for XBOX360, PS3, PSP2", which goes right into your question - who is this for? I like the idea of a portable PS3 (and if they allow cross platform gaming or save file integration between the two systems, consider me sold), but there doesn't seem to be an identifiable target market. I mean, the original PSP was something we hadn't seen before; this is more of the same, albeit more powerful, so is it a targeted to PSP owners? I'm a bit lost.

Still in yet, this thing sounds like it'll be a head turner. I can't wait to try it out. R2/L2 would've made this thing perfect, but twin analog sticks is great. I'm going to be fucking broke by 2012.

Oh, and way flash cards? I mean, I guess it makes sense as they don't skip, but I thought it was going to be digital only. I'm also digging the fact that it has a built in GPS. That's pretty cool. I'm just...concerned? that this will turn out just like the Wii and PS3/DS and PSP. High tech beast vs familiar gaming monopolist. I mean, it's great for the consumers because in the end, both prices will be low enough for me to afford.

    Reaper.
    censored black sheep .
I can see the price being much higher than the 3ds .
which probably means when it comes to sales in the portable industry will be alot like the like the last gen .
The price will probably let this thing down .

The Uncharted trailer. The game itself looks awesome, the controls...not so much. I really hope they don't force motion into titles - the rear pad and gyroscope is cool and all, but it looks like she's going to drop the PSP2 when she tries to use it to climb the vine. Is it me, or do the buttons look a bit smaller too? I guess I won't mind it, but I really, really hope they don't try and make me cross a vine via motion again.

I'm completely blown away with how good Uncharted looks—wow! Though, seeing how Uncharted 2 is the best looking PS3 game, perhaps other PSP2 games won't look as good as the Uncharted? Well, we'll see I guess.

I still can't over the fact that Sony seemed to learn absolutely nothing from the original PSP. It feels like 2004 all over again—Nintendo tries to innovate with something new (touch screen, glasses-free 3D) but Sony gives us ridiculous high tech (PSP, PSP2). Still pretty psyched, though. If Uncharted is a launch game I'm totally in.

That's always a possibility, but remember, this is some of the "work in progress" stuff. As the dev's get better with the hand held and dev kits, the games will only look better. I mean, compare the launch titles of the PSP to the recent Ghost of Sparta. The launch titles on the PSP looked like mid-class PS1 titles. Ghost of Sparta could pass as a mid to late PS2 title. I mean, hell, even if all of the titles remain at Uncharted PSP2 quality, I think that's enough to get the visual aficionados on board.

Well, Sony seems to have gotten one thing right - the second analog stick. I think this will make a huge difference when playing games. Most games on the PSP had awful camera controls because you were forced to use the D-Pad to control it; here, we have the right analog stick AND touch screen. I still don't see why Nintendo didn't opt for another analog stick, but I trust their choice - I was really skeptical about touch screen control camera's in games, but Super Mario 64 and MPH put them at ease. I think Sony's trying to target smartphone users as well - the screen itself should be comfortable and familiar for smartphone users, and the overall look of the device is pretty sleek (if not too round) - if I had an iTouch, I'd drop it for this. It's too bad the PSP phone isn't anywhere near as powerful or handy as the PSP2.

I want to hear more about the connectivity with the PS3. I probably won't be getting one of these anywhere near launch, but in a few years, it'll be good to know that this will work with my PS3. Of course, by the time I get one of these, the PS4 will be out, sooo

    Edit
Added another image, and if you click the spoiler for specs, it'll show you a picture of the specs, as well as confirmed franchises.

It won't be that price, don't worry. This usually happens. I'm expecting no more than $500, hopefully around $450 or less.

I was hoping for like $400.00 at most, maybe a little less.

Either way, I'll buy it, because I'm a fanboy.
