Do you think that the quality of the desigins of the pokemon has gone down over time ? I for one would say yes , compare the g1 pokemon to the g5 pokemon , the first load tend to be very animal based while the later can range from anything . |

I actually think it's gotten better since Ruby and Sapphire. I thought Generation 3 was a mess; there were very few Pokemon that actually looked like real animals. I think Generation 5 is decent. The Pokemon are cute. Like the little deer one and the zebra.

The quality of Pokemon hasn't gone down, the Pokemon are just more diverse now. |

I've always been partial to the original 150. I would say that the others can't match up to the creativity of the first batch |

Not at all. I think there are a few weird looking ones, but everyone says the same thing every generation. They all look odd to begin with; each generation simply brings in new weirdos. There's no difference between Primape and the new pig starter in terms of favorable or well designed aspects, in my opinion. |

Yeah, I'm of the opinion that the first gen is extremely lame and uninspired. I mean, half of them are basically different colored balls, many are just generic animal designs whipped into a Pokemon, and way too many are just downright repetitive (as in, Magnemite to Magneton, Diglett to Dugtrio, Grimer to Muk, Doduo to Dodrio... creativity? Try repetition). I love how interesting the designs are nowadays. |

I don't know about the hundreds of Pokemon out there, but I do know that I hate Black and White's starter Pokemon. Smugleaf's the only one that looks kinda cool, but I'd still stick with the awesomeness that was Torchic when I started out. |
| I have started a forum and I am currently looking for a small community willing to discuss things in general to waste time. | |

I don't know which starter Pokemon to choose for Gen 5, but seeing how I usually am, I'll probably end up getting all 3 somehow

I actually think it's nice how they're expanding the range of what the pokemon are based off of. I mean playing a game with pokemon that just look like animals, you might as well be playing a game where you manage a zoo. Don't get me wrong, I like the G1 pokemon, I think they have great design and will always stay part of my (and other people's) childhood. But the G5 pokemon give the game that kind of exotic, "WHOA! This is cool!" kind of feel to it. |

Well of course you have to get all 3 starters! How else are you going to "catch them all"? |

To "catch them all" takes an extremely long time. Anyways, the styles of the newer Pokemon are almost as good as the original 150. |

From what i have seen, the Black and White generation are all cute fuzzy little things. More like their design is aimed to little girls...or just girls in general. The legendaries are badass, but many of the pokemon i have seen are just...too cute. Not enough "cool" looking pokemon. |

After 3rd gen. they pokemon animators started to run out of ideas. Now the creators over focusing on how the 3d looks instead of the quality of the pokemon. |
