Nintendo DLC Rules; I want to know about Nintendo's DLC rules

I've seen some forums around the internet about Nintendo's new DLC rules.
Example, in Rock Band Forums, some users said that Nintendo have strict rules about the DLC (in this case Downloadable Songs) that don't let Harmonix made sales or free songs.
Can someone explain this to me?

Rock Band and Guitar Hero songs, Black Ops patches, Channel and Games, ect. are DLC = Downloadable Content.

There are a few other games that have DLC as well - some of the Wiiware titles have new levels, characters, content, etc, while retail games like Guitar Hero, Rockband, and a few others have content as well.

I remember DLC on the Wii was a bitch... like 1 guitar hero song took up, like, half of my memory. And then I had to switch SD cards /=

DLC usually isn't free because it takes the developer time to actually make the content, and thus, they wanted to be compensated for it. I mean, would you like to go to work for 3 or 4 months and not get paid?

I don't say ALL, but at least something free.
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have that.

As does the Wii. If I recall correctly, GoldenEye and The Conduit have extra content that can be "unlocked" via downloads or a code. It's not the same, but it's something. The Wii doesn't have much storage space, either way. Games like "My Life as a King" that have DLC store it to the NAND (the 512mb of space the Wii has) and when that's full, you have to back it up to a SD Card. It's not much, but it's something.

True, but i LOVE the SD cards idea, it's better than a memory card, i wonder if Nintendo is thinking about support USB Storage Devices, it would be AWESOME.

    A hardrive.

A 1 TB hardrive, 1 hacked wii, and all your games backed up.
