No shooter is better than Golden Eye. Although, I haven't played that game in YEARS. Maybe it's not so great anymore. Supposedly, the Primes are great though. Edited by Pyroll7, Sep 13 2011, 12:23 PM.

I didn't appreciate that game when I played it at my cousins house when I was seven, but playing it now is a blast, especially with a few friends. |

Don't you agree, Zach?

![]() BioShock would have to be my favorite FPS. Out of the choices, I like Halo the best (didn't really care for two and three though). |

Foremost is the chromatic substance accomplishment to Picklegod! Pickle contributes to all parts of the forum, stays astir, and mostly is awful to everyone he meets. A wonderful, intelligent somebody, Pickle testament now better us with every day NF decisions. Approval Picklgod! -afrad15 | |

Yea the choices suck. There are much better FPS out there than what was provided. I think i voted 'I dominate them all' or whatever, but yea honestly, Metroid was a beast series. Never played Halo so out of the three i did play (COD, Battlefield, Metroid) i would honestly go with Metroid. But yea. Give me better FPS to choose from and we can have a real discussion here. |

Hell yes, I would have probably chosen Bioshock too. I went with Halo because it actually has a thought provoking storyline. I haven't played any of the Metroid Primes though. I like shooters that don't try to dip too far into reality and actually have a somewhat involving story/setting. Edited by MetaZora, Sep 14 2011, 11:53 AM.

I don't know if metroid is so much a FPS, I think it's classified as a FPA. (first person adventure) |

It's first person. And you shoot shit with a gun of sorts. Yea dude, it's a first person shooter. Now if you wanna call it a first person shooter/adventure, be my guest. But i'm lazy and rather just call it a FPS. |

I can't believe people are still trying to say that Goldeneye 007 holds up against modern titles. Sure, it was good at the time and I sank countless hours into it, but the first person shooter genre has moved on so much since then. It's really a technology-dependent genre. Anywhoo, I don't think there's an objectively 'best' FPS. I personally like to go for the more unrealistic titles, of which the Halo series is probably the best modern representative. A lot of people say the series is overrated and I agreed with them based on Halo 1 and 2, but the series stepped up so much with the 360 titles. I've got nothing but praise for the Source engine shooters either; I still haven't seen better ragdoll physics than what were dished up in CS: Source and DOD: Source. As a sidenote, does anybody remember Battlefield 2142? I dunno why, but it seemed to sink into obscurity real quick. I really digged the take-over-the-enemy-spaceship mode. |
