I returned because I love you guys (sniff)

I've kind of noticed this clash with lives in Video games, in some games, 1 life is your last, and in others, Zero is your last(Zero is obviously inferring that lives are "Extra lives"). Which do you think is more proper? |

I prefer to see 1 life is your last. How can you have 0 lives, that would mean you are dead

This has usually screwed me over. When I play one game, it's Game Over after you die when you have 0 lives. Then I decide to make some progress on a different game, and then I die with 1 life left and think I'm okay...until I see the dreaded Game Over screen. I think all of games should have the end of the life counter (providing there is one) be the same and not mess with our heads. |

I think "one life left = last chance" would make more sense, but I prefer "zero lives left = last chance" because you get that extra chance to complete the level. |

This. I mean, I like having the extra life, but I don't like finding out that 1 was your last life the hard way. |

It depends if the thing says: Lives: or Lives left: Because yes, it only makes sense to have more than 0 "lives", but it also makes sense to have 0 "lives left" Often times, "lives" really means "lives left" though. |

I prefer 0 = last life only because that's the one I have seen the most and the one I'm used to. |

I like Melee's output. Six lives or more, it's a number. Everything less than that is an icon. One icon left equals last life. Other than that, I can't remember how any other game puts it except for Sonic genesis games. Game overs are rare, you know. |

I've always seen it as having one life left, meaning you can still play even if you have 0. Though, most games don't use lives like this anymore. So, I don't really care. |
