New super mario bros wii; Freezes or glitches

For Christmas I got a red limited edition wii and while playing NSMB with two other people when I arrived in world 4 I began to have freezing issues. It freezes just Mario Luigi and toad while everything else still moves around. We tested one player on the levels that froze and it worked fine. If anyone has a answer to this issue I would be grateful and happy to finally play multiplayer again on NSMB. Also yes I tried another game on the system (metroid prime trilogy) and no problems.

It's most likely the game. I'm no expert, but maybe try playing through those levels on single player? If the problem persists, I would go to Nintendo's Technical Support Forums and maybe send it in.

Hmm, that's weird. Try cleaning the disc.

The disc is brand new and definitely not dirty. I sent Nintendo a email and waiting for a reply. Would sitting it horizontal make a difference?

Its my first wii and its definitely leaving a bad taste in my mouth. The worst thing of all is one of the stages that froze was the coin glitch stage right when we jumped onto the flag pole it froze ggrrr

hmm...i have had 3 wiis in my time, even my first one works now without problems that i got from release, so its not the console, but i cant see how the game can be doing that since its brand new, maybe you just got a bad wii. I also have the limited edition red wii that you have and i played NSMB quite a bit, i dont think it has ever caused a problem for me or my mates when we played 4-player, your best bet is to get nintendo to replace either the game or console if it keeps happening.
Please delete my account, I will no longer be on this forum, thanks

Ok so how does Nintendo do the console warranty? I mean really I've been wanting the red wii and don't wanna lose it and it works with metroid but messes up on nsmb. :( really sucks

I might be stretching it a bit but could it be that particular save file? Maybe its corrupted some how?

You might be right...no harm in trying. Also, it might help if you update your Wii to the newest update. My friend had a problem slightly similar to yours and he updated his Wii and then the problem was gone.

If it is the Wii, then Nintendo tries their best to repair it, but if they can't, then they send you a brand-new one. I think it would still be the Limited-Edition Red Wii if they send you a new one, but I doubt that it's the Wii.

I have the newest update. It could be a messed up disc.

That is most likely then. Your best bet would be to send it in to Nintendo.

I'm starting to have a feeling that the system update may be causing the freezing. I played on world 3 and it froze up again. Then I put my gf's scene it twilight in and played 3 player mode and it froze again. The wii seems like it doesn't like multiplayer games.

Well I would love to know what Nintendo actually means by system update. Do they update anything at all and do they test them out? I have played Xbox 360 for 5 plus years and to me a system update is adding content like a new dashboard or ESPN or avatars or so on. I don't get what they update at all cause from what I understand is that the usual wii updates sometimes brick the system.
