I'm not sure I play enough shooters to be able to definitively come up with a favourite, but I have to echo your sentiments about the Halo series. Co-op play is just so much fun.

Co-op? Really? Because the best thing about Halo for me is killing people in multiplayer.

Oh, I would link to a Newgrounds flash here about teabagging, but I'm not sure if that's against the rules.

I am a story person, so games like Half-Life 2 and Bioshock, which have a story behind all the mindless gun play, are my personal picks for FPS games. I guess I could also throw on Borderlands and Fallout 3 because of my newfound love of FPS-RPGs.

I also have a soft spot for Uncharted, and (if this counts) TF2.

I really like Unreal Tournament III - it's really fast paced, and you can turn up the speed and make it super fast paced, which is a lot of fun. I'm not a computer gamer, but I do like Tf2. I wish the console ports were better so that I can play with those controls with my friends (who are also not PC gamers), but it's still a lot of fun.

I'm also a big fan of Goldeneye (both) and the Unreal engine in general.

I've never really been too keen on the multiplayer mode. I most enjoy playing co-op with my friends when we're drinking. :P

Also, feel free to post the link.

I like Half Life 2 as well, but my enjoyment of it is always limited by the fact that I seem to get lost every three minutes, despite it being a totally linear game. It got to the point where I was excited to know what happens next in the story, but found actually playing the thing a chore at times.

    You're a chore!

But seriously I think Half-Life 2, BioShock, and GoldenEye 007 are the best shooters out there. Some gamer veterans say Quake and the original Unreal, but I sadly haven't played them. Call of Duty 4 was great, too.

Has no one played Half Life 1? I feel like people forgot Half Life 2 is a sequel.

    Don't you agree, Zach?

Like MF, I'm a story person so I've got to say BioShock. Fallout 3 is also a great one. Not so much for the main quest story, which didn't really thrill me, but more for the exploration side of it. Plus the VATS is pretty awesome.

fallouts basically an rpg that looks like an fps .
Ive never realy been a person who gets that much fun from normal shooters , unless its multiplayer which is a diffrent story .
I like the star wars battlefront games on the ps2 , I didnt realy like the modern warfare games , they seemed abit plain and boring , Im allright with world at war though , its just the modern warfare seemed like there was nothing to it than mindless shooting .

fps's have never been my favourites , unless its multiplayer they never seemed that much fun to me .

    MODERN WARFARE 2!!!

Black Ops and World at War are just the worst games ever made...but the Modern Warfare series have always been the best, not just for me, but a lot of my mates too.

I do play other FPS's, like bioshock, but once the storyline is over...it becomes pointless, so i stick to the best online fps games. I don't play on my xbox360, because the games just all feel really shit, so i dont play halo or anything like that.
Please delete my account, I will no longer be on this forum, thanks

That's such a broad statement... "shooters"

Scrollers? FPS? Third-person shooters? Rail shooters? I for one am more of an RPG person, so I've never really played much of any shooters.
PM me for my PSN ID

Which is another reason I chose it. In my opinion, any shooter with RPG elements has an advantage. Granted Fallout 3 is more an RPG with shooter elements, but still...
