Unfortunately, I typically only play games with friends at the moment, so it doesn't leave me with much to say. I really want to get back into playing games more regularly, but I don't really have the money for it at the moment.I definitely don't think recreational drug use is immoral. It's a very complex topic, but generally speaking I believe a much more relaxed, rational attitude towards drugs would have a positive impact. From a personal perspective, recreational drug use is just something I enjoy doing. I mostly just smoke weed, which is pretty harmless... but most things are pretty safe if you make some effort to be clued up before doing them.Do I fear for my health or sanity? Not really. I'm pretty confident nothing will ever happen, but if it does I'm prepared to face up to that. And we could even found our own rampantly incestuous royal house! |

Do you have any heroes/idols/role models or, perhaps, a trait that you find most admirable in anyone? |

Sorry for the delay in me answering. It's been a busy couple of days. However, I've been thinking about this question for a while now. I've come to the conclusion that I don't have any heroes. There are certainly historical people I'm interested in, but there's not a single one who I would consider a paragon of virtue worth modelling my own life and actions after. And in terms of admirable traits, I'm afraid I'm going to have to be pretty boring and obvious. D: Compassion. I really can't believe just how little ability some people have to feel for others. I'm not just talking about strangers here, but even those closest to them. I'm not sure if I'm legitimately a good person or if this sounds believable, but I do make a conscious effort to demonstrate compassion for others, regardless of who the person is or what their problems are. Especially as far as friends are concerned, I feel it's my duty to do everything I can to help if they're in need.
I lose my phone all the time. The worst bit is we don't even have a land line phone here, so I just have to hope one of my housemates is around.

Actually, I find it more admirable that you're unable to find any quintessential figures of virtue. Personally, I've always been bothered by people who call anyone a hero or idol in such a sense. Traditionally, I've always answered the question by listing off people and then qualifying what exactly those virtues I admired in them. As for the answer, while it seems to be the cliched, idealistic answer that you'd expect anyone with a heart to choose, I question exactly how obvious it is to people. To be honest, I almost feel that it's a lost virtue. I see more and more people who are so self-centered that they will willingly victimize others to attain their own goals. That, or become so apathetic to the needs and desires of others that they simply ignore any chance to help. Culture seems to be progressing towards an individualistic society which has little concern over the affairs of others. While I think individualism is a great thing, I feel that it should be harnessed not abused. [cliff notes version: I like your answer] |
