I've seen people with cancer, aids, tumors, you name it, told that they have little under a month to live, come to church, pray, go back to the doctor, and boom - no trace of anything. A close friend of my family actually had a large brain tumor, malignant. Doctors told her there was nothing they could do, and release her. She came one Wednesday night, the congregation prayed for her, and the following week she came with scans and everything - tumor was gone. Completely. Of course, there are other reasons, but that was the most evident for me at the time. @hissae; I haven't seen anyone from NF in real life, but I do talk to several members outside of the forums on a regular basis.

I mean, I suspect that all those people had some kind of treatment going on, plus their bodies would be doing their best to fight against it, so was it the treatment or the praying? And why is it that some people who do the same (get treatment and pray) don't survive? The problem is, because they've used two techniques, there's no real way to say which one did what. But then, here's a question that I think pretty much hurts every claim that God can heal: Why doesn't God heal amputees? If God can cure cancer, why can't he make somebody's limb grow back? I also have a feeling that supporters of other religions have also done a similar thing: some pray, others don't, yet only handfuls of both parties actually survive. But to see someone with a large brain tumor have it one day, and then have it seemingly magically disappear, with no traces of it at all, it's something that science can't do. I mean, there is no cure for Aids. No drug that can reverse or remove it - yet I've seen people who had it one day, and then came back the next and didn't have it any more. In fact, I know one person who was diagnosed with HIV (and had it retested, multiple times, at different clinics) but couldn't start on drugs or anything until the following month. They went for a prayer session, and when they went back to the doctor's for their examination and administration, the HIV was gone. There's nothing that I can say that'll change your mind - it's something that's different for everyone. I've been going to church my entire life, so seeing these kinds of acts isn't anything new for me. I didn't "pick" Christianity over another religion - hell, I didn't even pick. I've always been a Christian. @Orange - If I had all of the money in the world, wouldn't that make money useless? I mean, if I'm the only person with it, the value of it would be zero - people would just use something else as tender to get what they want. But, to answer your question - if I had as much money in the world that I wanted, I'd build a house out of reinforced space grade glass and such - my banisters and guard rails would be made of it and would be filled with fish. Hell, my basement would be one huge aquarium, and I'd have glass floors so that I could see it all.

My brothers only like video games, so I usually get them each a game, and my parents are like Wild Cards - they don't tell us what they want so we don't spend money on them, so we usually get together and make them something special. @Zane: Fffffuuuu. I was trying to put that behind me. They did end up sending me the money, though. I've got others, if you want them, but I no longer have Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, or Metroid Prime Hunters :/. I suppose I could find them in the bargain bin, though...
