Terrible sections, in good games; Those pesky blemishes on gems.

Did you ever love a really good game, but there was one section that you absolutely despised? For me it would be hunting for the sky temple keys in Metroid Prime 2. I thought the entire game was fantastic, besides that one part. The keys were hidden insanely well, and the clues were too cryptic. After finding a couple I gave up and looked up a walkthrough because I wasn't having fun.

I remember enjoying starfox assault (even the on foot segments), it wasn't until after I played through the entire game that I discovered all the hate for the game online. I havn't played it in years. I should give it a revisit soon, maybe tonight.

One I hear a lot is the Triforce collecting in Wind Waker. Personally, I enjoy it because it gives you a good reason to just go and explore to your heart's content. I mean, the chart you're looking for may be far away, but on the way to it, you find that you discover all kinds of cool places and things you didn't know were there. So to me, it accentuates the free exploration, which is what Zelda is all about.

    Though Tingle's money-gouging was a bit uncalled for ._.

I thought the Triforce collecting was alright, WW was a fun game.
Had actually more fun levels than TP in my opinion.

I dont like the Water temple in OoT and 2 of the 4 dungeons in MM.
Not that i have difficulty winning them, i just dont like those levels.
Time consuming and make me think alot.
Phantom Hourglass was a decent game but some of the puzzles like in the King dungeon was a pain and i probably never would have figured that out by myself. That is most of the stuff that you have to write with pen etc.
One of the very few times i needed walkthrough.

I really enjoyed the Master Quest of OoT, that was a great challenge.
The only thing i needed walkthrough for was for the Gerudo challenge for the Ice Arrow.
With the hole in the wall and the Song of Time, i already tried to play the song there and it didnt work so i woulda probably never figured that out, coming back there..

So basically i like games most of the time until i need a walkthrough which is rare but happens often in games like Metroid Prime 1,2 and the Legend of Zelda: MC.
The only Zelda game i basically need a walkthrough for the whole entire game, similar with Metroid, i stopped playing those games, not my cup of tea.
I never like to use walkthrough through my first time through any game, but i almost always do it my second time finishing it.

Kingdom Hearts:358 Days was awesome but some of the levels were really boring like following the Mage that never stops and where you must not be spot and the Peter Pan level where the battle system sucked.
But fun overall, i finished it 100% everything, and am playing it again on Proud mode just for the challenge. Having played the game overall for 135 hours. Which is crazy for a DS game :P

Well, the temple itself wasn't bad ... it was the fact that you had to backtrack and do the whole thing over and over to proceed further. Something that they thankfully fixed in Spirit Tracks.

in my faveorate game of all time, super paper mario, on the 3rd part of the 3rd chapter they make you do one of thoese climbing levels and if you fall down you have to start all over again. atleast it payed off at the end with a challanging boss fight.

No they weren't. You can easily find them, because they'd all appear in a room with a red scan dead Luminoth.

Anyways, worst is easily Wind Waker and the 8 Triforce pieces. God, fuck it so hard. Honestly, it's so pointless and time-consuming. "Run around like a chicken with its head cut off, find a map, pay Tingle 5 billion Rupees, go to a section, find the Triforce, rinse, wash, repeat". Like, fuck, without a guide you're looking at at least 4 hours or so to do the whole thing.
