I know what your saying, but I am still not buying it out of principle, but that may mean I never buy one seeing as how Nintendo DS prices have barely dropped in the last 5 years, so I may have to give in and get one. Problem is, I will have to buy 2 or 3, so it adds up for me, since some go in my collection.

Prices may be too high nowadays, but Nintendo is taking too much liberty, they are taking advantage of their customers. I mean me as a consumer, I have spent in excess of £10,000 on Nintendo alone in the last 3-4 years, so to me it's like Nintendo doesn't give a shit about anything but profit.

No company gives a shit about anything but profit. No matter how much Miyamoto's marketed smile spreads through gaming media, he still only cares about profit. If companies didn't do this, they would die.

Since you can get many games on iPhone for free today, I think Nintendo's more expensive games will have a thougher time to sell. Although, Mario All-Stars is already a success, so I guess people findd it worth its money.

Hey, just thought i'd mention this, the US version of Super Mario All Stars for Wii is now sold out and there won't be any more, so get one as fast as you can from any where, because ebay prices are super hyped, i mean they cost $29 at release?...just look at these ebay prices..ridiculous Ebay Link

and I must also admit, the US versions look much much nicer than our PAL ones, if anyone on this forum lives in the US and can get a new sealed copy of an NTSC version for normal prices, could they help me out since I don't wanna pay $100, I would give them something for the effort, thanks.

The asking prices on ebay seem to be high but they aren't really selling for that much overall. Looking at completed listings there are a lot of auctions that didn't get any bids and the ones that are selling are with the red wii.

One or two copies cracked 100 bucks but on the other end there are tons selling for 40 or 50 bucks or so. There may be a short term spike as people freak out and BUY BUY BUY but I think we'll see the price stabalize shortly.

Long term maybe it'll be worth something because Mario is popular but there sure are a lot of copies floating around right now so I don't think there's any need to flip your shit just yet.

Honestly, you'd know a game sells out quickly because our Wal-Mart was sold out, and they literally have dozens of copies of any majorly hyped new release the first week it comes out.

Also, this is to say no, I didn't get it and will likely not get it.

The thing is it's selling to a lot of speculators. People who buy it just to put it on ebay. It's no different than, say DDR Mario Mix which was selling at over $150 in 2005 right around christmas. Now no one gives a shit about DDR Mario Mix. You can buy it for like 20 bucks again.

It's like tickle me elmo all over again. Everyone has this big boner for a game that just sold 1.9 million copies. People are buying it because other people bought it so maybe even more people will buy it if I put it on ebay for twice the price?

Except tickle me elmo never hit ebay so people didn't know they shouldn't be paying $1500 for it. Well non idiots knew but I digress buy All Stars if you can find it at a reasonable price.

i think why ppl are getting a "boner" off this more so than mario ddr is because this is more of a collector thing with a very limited release,(one walmart guy told me they only got four copies of it shipped to them) whereas mario ddr is just not worth getting sexually aroused over.plus this game comes with a bonus cd that claims to be the first time the original famous mario theme from game one was ever officially released...whoa hang on my tits are getting hard

I have a japanese version of this now and also a pal uk one...i still need a ntsc us one to complete the major 3...i opened 1 to play a while ago and to be honest, its nothing special, but thats most likely because i never played games early on, so i am spoiled by newer advanced games.

I see these kind of hypes all the time, a few for examples are; Wii Party, Lego Indiana Jones Wii, Naruto Clash of the Ninja Revolution 2 and 3 and a few others...but they rarely keep the value, these are UK PAL versions btw...
