    The series has existed since 1997 and had four games released prior to the release of Fallout 3.

    Bonbon beat me to it. I've sadly never played the earlier games, but given the chance I absolutely would. From what I have learned the first 2 Fallouts were not FPS like 3, but focused more on the rpg-like elements and the complex story paths that the series as a whole is best known as. Everything from Ghouls, to Super Mutants, to the Enclave, to the vaults were in the earlier games.

    The first two were made on pc , by the original devolpers quite awhile back .
    @Mfreak : you can get a free demo of what was going to be fallout 3 , I colud try finding the place you get it from if you want .

    Have you even looked at the requirements? I could build a computer that meets those requirements from a Dollar Store. Not really, but seriously, a 10+ year old computer could run this.

    The original game came out in 1996....

    as smoothz said , it came out in 1996 .

    I don't know about anybody else, but I've always loved the isometric, sprite-based graphics of late-90s RPGs and strategy games.
