A sentence for you to read underneath my avatar.
This is mostly a thread discussing old PS2 games that were marvelous, but didn't get the recognition they deserve. (Sorry if there is already a thread like this.)

This is definitely one of them:

    War of the Monsters.

This game was undeniably one of the greatest games of it's genre. It was like Rampage mixed in with some elements of Power Stone with a touch of Dragon Ball Z Budokai: Tenkaichi (with many obvious allusions to classic monster movies and 1950's science-fiction).

It had everything you'd expect in a fighting game involving giant monsters and beasts. Signature moves, climbing buildings and cliffs, picking up objects like cars, chunks of buildings, and rubble, using some objects as swords or spears to impale opponents, unique projectiles, death traps, combo attacks and grapples, cool story mode with boss battles, and their own special endings.

Honestly, this is one of my most favorite games from the PS2, and I feel as though it never received the acclaim it really deserved. I've played Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee and King of the Monsters, but neither of them compare to the WAR of the Monsters.

In my humble opinion, this was the only giant monster game done right.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoah vs King Abaddon (SMT:DS2:RKvKA)

An AMAZING game. The story WILL make you release babies.
But no, really, it's a fantastic game. The gameplay is something I've never seen before - and it's something you have to play, not watch. It's so fast paced yet incredibly strategic, and you really grow attached to your partners. (Hell, I used Tam Lin and Lillith up to level 40 - 30 levels past their "useful" period.) The music is fantastic, the gameplay is awesome, and each character is done so well that you'll love most of them by the end of the second chapter.

This one is a "classic" SMT game in that your encounters with demons are random, and the gameplay is turn based. It's also beautiful - it mixes cell shades with real hues, and it comes out great. Classic turn based gameplay with an AMAZING story. Again, you'll grow attached to your peeps.

Also, and this is a spoiler but I don't care, you fight and recruit either

    I FUCKING KNOW.

And that's a huge deal, as Atlus tends to NOT cross over the SMT series. So fucking good.

Or, and this is a huge OMG,

HOLY SHIT. This is actually the special edition of...either Nocturne of RKvKA - I'm not too sure. But rest assured, both characters on the front are playable. I've yet to play this specific editions (as, low and behold, it's in Japanese), but it's awesome.

Go out and get them. Now.

    (Edit)
(Give me a few minutes and I'll explain why. Just wanted everyone to know immediately.)

Hell yeah it is. I'm actually going to go back and play some of the older SMT games. I think I'll start with "If"

Also, I can't believe I forgot this one:
