Goomba Posts: 22 Group: Goomba Member #13,232 Joined: September 20, 2010	Have any of you played it? I found it to be a compelling journey chronicling a man's struggle against traditional authority. Despite the authorities from two different countries constantly bearing down on him, he struggled to move forward for his own family and the titular redemption. In this way, it is not that different from Rockstar's other flagship title, Grant Theft Auto IV, in inserting classic themes of great literature into their games. It seems that Rockstar pushing the medium forward with such vigor is being completely ignored by most people. Do any of you have thoughts on Red Dead Redemption? Or Rockstar's efforts at large for that matter?

Though, I thought the ending of the game was sort of dragging on, but as an overall product it's definitely one of Rockstar's best.

The presentation is great and the gameplay mechanics are clearly more refined than in GTA IV. Rockstar games have always had relatively solid storytelling, but I didn't find it massively absorbing. The characters are a lot of fun, though.

(Yeah, I know, finish the f'n game already). The story is/was pretty good along the number of characters you encounter. Another thing that's good about the game: Marston's smart ass responses.

I also didn't like how the very last mission wasn't introduced to you easier. I honestly played for like, 2 hours without knowing that I was missing the last mission. Also: Jack Marston is a fucking tool. I don't like playing as him.

Well, it wasn't just a mission blip on the map. Instead you had to just stumble into it by accident. Basically, it should've shown you where it is instead of relying you to accidentally find it.
