Somehow, I don't think we are an actual Nintendo Community. Yesterday, Sept. 13, 2010, was the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. I didn't realize this until they had a story about it on the news yesterday.

    Don't you agree, Zach?

I realized it when I flipped onto the Nintendo Channel yesterday. They had a great little video timeline that I watched.

Haha, I totally forgot, too. I'll need to check the Nintendo channel later today and see that time line.

I saw it, forgot it post it here. Plus the 25th Anniversary game is amazing ... as in what's included. Happy 25th Birthday Mario!

    That's pretty awesome.

What does it include? Just the original? Or is it a collection?

It's in Japanese ... but bear with it. No localization though ... most probably. ='(

As far as I know, it's a port of SNES' Super Mario All-Stars and a soundtrack with songs from every Mario game from the past 25 years. I'm not sure if it's a sampler or a best-of or if it's actually every song.

It also comes with a booklet filled with unreleased concept art.
Shame that it's limited edition and probably won't come to America. My All Stars cartridge doesn't save anymore.

Also, where the fuck is Lost Levels in that video?

Not to mention Paper Mario, Paper Mario 2, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG, etc, etc. I think they chose only the main games in the chronology, like the main sidescrollers and 3D platformers - what Mario's is really famous for.

And that 25th anniversary collection indeed seems great, especially if it really does have every soundtrack. Probably won't be localized, but ah well.

Lost Levels is Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan.
It definitely counts as a main title.

I get that. The video was a little off, missing a few games. Still, it was a nice watch.
