Rare was sold because the only game they made was starfox adventures, they had promised Donkey Kong Racing, a direct sequel to DK64, a third Banjo-Kazooie game, AND there was a Killier Instinct rumour going around, they cancelled Donkey Kong Racing, and folded on all other ideas... this is why there were sold. is it sad? hell yeah, firstly becasue Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Killer Instinct 2 Gold, and B-K and B-T were without doubt some of the biggest titles to grace the N64. Personally, i was strongly anticipating a "Banjo-threeie" to the Nintendo Gamecube. In regards to if they will come back or not... well they're already not the same. apparently the Banjo team (most of them) left Rareware went the sale to Microsoft took place. I beleive they went to third party deveopers such as Ubisoft, Activision, and i think squarenix. However... as is said... anything can happen.
