Wow,you stayed up just to see that in animal crossing :)
Back when I still played Animal Crossing (which my last game was the DS version) I actually enjoyed playing late night. It'd be fun just to roam around and see what was going on, and who was traveling about.
The Animal Crossing talk reminded me that Go K.K. Rider! was also quite awesome.

    Indeed, that song was awesome.

I know this topic is about Nintendo music, but I want to say that other composers/songs should not be ignored as well, such as Nobou Uematsu's Final Fantasy works and Motoi Sakuraba's work in the Tales series as well as Eternal Sonata.

I dunno if this should be in a seperate thread, but they can't be ignored!

Right, I forgot about Phoenix Wright. Those songs were heart-pumping! Especially the smile that comes on your face when you say "OBJECTION!" and all goes silent ... a bunch of talking ... and then WHAM! there begins the epic song.

I agree. I was going to put this in Other Systems.
    But I didn't.
So, that may have been a better idea in hindsight.
But as cliched as it is to choose it, One Winged Angel is so god damn magnificent.

This is pretty damn good, too.
Listen to the whole thing. It's dynamic, fool.

Legend of Zelda never fails in the category of epic. I'm sure many will agree with me when I bring up the saucy sounds of Gerudo Valley =].

BTW, it's the original (I like the Brawl version too, but for nostalgia it's always gotta' be the original).

The Mother series is just a breeding ground for excellent, emotional music. When the game wants you to be sad, it'll play songs like this, when it wants to engage you in a more-silly-than-fun battle, it'll give you this, and when it wants to scare you-- well, I refer you to giygas's themes on the first post.

Also, Fire Emblem. I know I'm insanely biased, but isn't one of the series's selling points its awesome music? For example, this is the music from a boss battle in one of the earlier games. Not to mention the recruitment themes that will get stuck in your head.

Genealogy needs to get a remake. If Shadow Dragon gets one, why not 4? It was one of the best.

This was one of my favorite themes, where you'd fight an enemy that could be recruited. Ah ... it was so cool.

FE had some amazing music, and indeed it was one of the selling points of the game, although itself being such a unique type of strategy game.
However, I found that the Mother series had some of the greatest music Nintendo has ever come up with, just as Shmellow was saying. The emotional rotunda of the music is so coherent and decisive. My favourite out of all was Mother 3 (emulation and fan patches ftw) and it had such a roller coaster ride sort of effect, with happiness, sadness, and so many other feelings put into and the music was so right composed for these parts of the game.

    Sounds awesome.

FE does have awesome, amazing music. The FE theme song is possibly my favourite video game song. All the tracks are great from all the games I've played so far.

@AoL- if they do, please don't make the art style like in Shadow Dragon- I hated the DS graphics.

I'm not saying make it LIKE Shadow Dragon. But I've gotta admit, the newest FE game that just hit Japan is trying to bring back character development. They're starting to get it =]

I'd want it to be a counsel remake, though. That'd be best for a game of that epicness.

To keep with the topic, I absolutely loved everything about Okami. It's music is always so right for the scene, and I simply loved the Japanese themes SO much.

I'm going to go ahead and mention a series nobody's mentioned yet: The Donkey Kong Country (including 64) Series.
    Pretty damn good.

    OMG

I had forgotten how amazing this was. It's Galaxy 1's credits music. It's just unbelievable... Definitely one of my favorite songs ever, if not my favorite, and not just from video games.

By the way, it's not really 7 minutes long; it's only 4. The extra 3 mins is just nothingness.

I know Galaxy 2's credits music is amazing as well, but since I haven't finished it completely (all stars I mean), I haven't looked up music on Youtube. I don't like to look up music for a game if I haven't finished it completely yet. So it might just be as good as Galaxy 1's 8D

It sounds like a mix between Star Wars and Pokemon.
    In a good way.
Doesn't really sound like Pokemon I guess, it just reminds me of Pokemon music.
