| Mr. Game & Watch and Mario; Could G&W soon outclass Nintendo's Long-Time mascot? | |

I returned because I love you guys (sniff)

I admit this is a ridiculous topic, but it could actually come true. Could the Game and Watch franchise soon beat Mario and become definitive to Nintendo? Think about it. You can plainly see that our Monochrome Pal is popping up in more and more Nintendo games, such as the SSB series and 2 new Club-Nintendo exclusives for the DS. Is it finally time for Mario to die out to the least-expected character? Discuss. |

That's insane. Literally. Mario will forever be Nintendo's mascot. |

This. And if you didn't know, Game & Watch was probably one of the first characters made by Nintendo ... and I don't think they ever plan to make him outclass Mario, the plumber of renowned position. |

Although I do agree that Nintendo will most likely never give up Mario, I also think that at one point every video game character needs to die. |

And so he will die with Nintendo, when they die sometime in the late future. |

Casual Bowser... oh, the horror!

Mario. The Club Nintendo exclusives are just exclusives, an award for people using the Club Nintendo system. They were mostly made for nostalgia, not for good gameplay. Mr. Game and Watch was somewhat of a minigame game. Nintendo never repeats a genre in its first party franchises that have prospered, I've noticed, as shown below. Legend of Zelda: Action/Adventure Mario: Platformer Metroid: Shooter Super Smash Bros: Fighter Pokemon: RPG (I'm not counting Mother or Earthbound because the series didn't prosper) Mario Party: Party Mario Sports: Sports Mario Kart: Racing The only exception is Kirby being a platformer. To be honest, I really don't like the Mr. Game and Watch game. Somewhat boring in my opinion. And just because he was in Brawl doesn't mean he's going to become popular. So the answer is no way, Mario was born as the best, and he will die as the best. |

Simply pure faggotry.

This is really a stupid question. Just because some fans wanted Mr. G&W back in Brawl doesn't mean that he's gonna outmatch Mario. That's retarded. |

Not a Paratroopa

Game and Watch isn't nearly as recognized as Mario. It defeats the purpose of having a mascot if they replace their biggest selling franchise, who's also as widely known as Mickey Mouse, with a character most gamers aren't even aware exists. |

i give two shits about mr game and watch ![]() I mean like even if there's a 100% chance it'll never happen, you do need to give props to him for revolutionizing the gaming market(As did Mario, but so did G&W) I understand all your points though. |

Revolutionizing it before most of us existed. Mario did that, too. But in a far more glamorous way.
