When I was a kid Nintendo Power was THE magazine. It was produced in house, so they had all sorts of cool insider info. And it was pretty much the only way you could geek out about video games. Even when the N64 was new it was still pretty relevant since the internet still hadn't taken over the world yet. Now it's just sort of a thing you probably shouldn't care about. I guess so. They still are interesting, though.

NP used to give free stuff (Those game handbooks for example) with subscriptions, so the value used to be better- nowadays, there's no such thing. As I said before, I forget the exact price, but around $25 sounds about right.

I remember a PS magazine my grandpa got when I was a kid gave him a disc. This disc had about ten or so demos on it whenever it came; and it came every half a year or so. It was a pretty cool perk. Did they do stuff like that?
