Again, not necessairly. If Nintendo was to be at the helm I'm sure they'd try and keep it true to the characters. Nintendo does know its fanbase after all. |

I adore that Animal Crossing movie. It's got to be the most heartwarming thing ever <3 I also love the Super Mario Broa live action film :> Anyhow, just like with movies based on books, movies from games are hard. There are many hard decisions to make. Should you stick to the story of the game or create an entirely new one in the game's world? How literally should the game's world be portrayed on film (for instance, look at the Mario Bros movie, the game's elements are taken very non-literally)? Which characters are necessary and which shouldn't be brought to the movie? Fans will complain no matter what, so who cares what they think D:< Anyway, since so much of Zelda's story progression involves collecting things, I think the only way it could adequately be made into movie is for the movie to be separate from the games, to have its own story and take it's own risks. I've never played through a Metroid game, but from what I've seen and heard, this could very well translate to the bug screen wonderfully. Also, with a some clever writing and a wacky story, I bet a CGI Donkey Kong comedy video would be hilariously awesome :> Edited by Togeshroob, Jul 20 2010, 09:59 PM.

The only Nintendo series that should even considered for movie development is Professor Layton. The Eternal Diva was just recently subbed, and the quality of it was absolutely wonderful. The strong atmosphere and writing of the franchise, along with the basic premise of it, really converted well to the big screen. None of Nintendo's other IP's have strong enough stories in order to waste an hour and a half of my life on. The closest would probably be Fire Emblem or Metroid, but Fire Emblem has tried and failed in the past, while Metroid could only really work if they did an animated adaption of the manga. Oh, duh, Professor Layton. Why did I forget about that? Yes, I heard it was very good, specifically that it was one of the few good video game movies. I can't wait to see the English dubbed version :> |

I'd disagree - all of the Zelda stories, a long with Kid Icarus, Advance Wars, Pokemon and Starfox all have interesting plot lines - I'd gladly watch a well done movie featuring any of those series. |

The movie would only look good if the characters looked like the Brawl character, or was just an animated film. I wouldn't want to watch a movie with actual actors

My answer is yes. They need to make a lot more movies, but do them right. I read that some dude bought the rights to make a Metroid movie a few years ago but has not done anything with it yet. |

Seriously?!? Again, I don't live in Japan, so I didn't see it. Was Kirby a full length movie? |

Just saying Kirby and movie in the same sentence makes me scared. Just imagine how scary a live action Kirby movie would be. |

It would probably look very, very stupid unless they use CGI or something. And even then it just doesn't sound good. Zelda, Metriod, and maybe a few others are game. Kirby? No. |

Whoa there, it was an anime Kirby movie. A live-action Kirby movie... my brain cannot grasp such a concept :s Speaking of anime, Pokemon gets a ton of movies. They aren't Nintendo backed at all, but still, it's a Nintendo published franchise. I think a Mother anime movie would be sorta nice. But then again, the gameplay of Mother, talking and all.... I'm not sure how well that'd translate to the big screen and keep the feel of the series. But if they can make a puzzle-oriented game (Professor Layton) into a good movie, then why not :\ Edited by Togeshroob, Jul 24 2010, 10:05 PM.
