This is so conflicting. On one hand it could be completely awesome and on another it could really, really suck. First off, Zelda or Metriod would probably be the ones I'd want most to become a movie. Mario is probably the best game, but I'm not too sure it'd translate that great to a movie unless done perfectly. Secondly, if Nintendo was in control of the film, it'd probably be good. Nintendo wouldn't screw up, but if run by an outside force (the most likely scenario) there is a good chance it wouldn't be that great.

But this is just my opinion of course.

Nintendo could make a movie, but the thing is they are not moviemakers. The reason why games like Zelda and Metroid have good stories is because they are lengthy and follow great gameplay. You can't fit all of the story from a 30 hour game sucessfully in a 2 hour movie in my opinion.

This is not entirely true. It probably wouldn't be quite the fantastic tale, but it could still be good. Much of the Zelda games focus on exploration and such. Take that out and that probably gets rid of twelve hours, at least for me. Then take out certain other forces like having to go through puzzles to get items and boss fights and you could probably keep much of the story in tact. It may not be an incredible action film, but the the story could hold up.

The thing is, if Nintendo made a Legend of Zelda movie, they would have to keep the action scenes in order for the story to make sense. The action would be okay at first, but eventually it would become the exact same scenes with different enemies. To sum it up, I think the movie would be inconsistent, with some good scenes and some bad scenes.

Again, this could be correct, but it depends. They could keep it fresh by giving it a video game like progression for Link, although this might turn out stupid. The best for a movie in terms of action would likely be Metriod, but I think it could work for LOZ too.

Honestly, I would want Nintendo having a certain amount of control, but having real filmakers make the film. Nintendo can look over and maybe choose the director/producers and such, but not actually make the film.

Converting games into movies has always been a topic that has plagued Hollywood for years. They generally just don't go together.

They've done it before, though this is essentially a long anime episode. They have the talent - I'm sure they could do it. Hell, Square did it with Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy: The Movie wasn't really that great. In fact, I thought it was terrible.

I thought Advent Children was pretty good for what it was, and I don't really remember any other FF (although I'm sure there are) movies. With that said, the question would be is, would Nintendo make a CGI/animation film or a live action film?

Well, either way I think it would be creepy. CGI: they would probably change how all the characters look. Live action: characters wouldn't look at all like they do in the games.

Not necessarily. A CGI film has the best chance to look like the characters. Live action would guarntee the characters looking different. Either way if the film is good I wouldn't really care that much about the look of them.

CGI is how they make the games, so it'd be the only way to actually recreate the characters in film to appear the way they did in the games.

And Advent Children looked beautiful. I'd love it if Nintendo were to make a Zelda movie in that fashion.

Yeah, Advent Children was an impressive film in terms of the way it looked. If they could make a Zelda film look like that, that would be really awesome.

Yes, but chances are they would make all of the characters look realistic, which actually wouldn't look as good, in my opinion.
