Mario Kart Wii has all of those settings, with the exception of Hazards (but then it wouldn't be Mario Kart!)

You can change the item style from Normal (All Items), None (No Items), Aggressive (Less Banana's and Mushrooms, more Red Shells, Bombs, etc), and Passive (More Mushrooms, Less shells, etc). For Stages, you can change how many races each tournament will be (From 4 to the full 32), limit the CPU's useage of vehicles (Bikes + Cars, No Cars, No Bikes), and their level of difficulty (Easy, Normal, Hard). You can also turn the CPU off.

Disabling certain items would also be cool, but then we'd get stupid races where people couldn't catch up. If it were allowed online, I'd hope for it to be in custom games (with friends and rivals) only. I don't want to race on Peach Beach with only Banana's.

    Edit

For characters, I'd love to see more "Cameo cars." All Mario racers (with the exception of Mii's) and no other Nintendo racers, but more Nintendo themed tracks and karts/bikes/etc. Mario Kart Wii had the Blue Falcon of F-Zero fame. I'd like to see a Landmaster (Heavy Kart), an Arwing (light kart, similar to the Blue Falcon), the Spirit Track's train (there's already a train kart in double dash, so this wouldn't be unimaginable), and others.

They should bring back the Blue shell from the N64 Kart game.
It was a lot better than the flying peace of annoying crap they have now.
I agree...the blue shell has got to be the single most annoying thing in the Mario Kart games...way overpowered...and I barely EVER get it :/

I know right. The blue shell is way to cheating. Even when I'm in 6th-8th place, I didn't get the blue shell. I think only com can get it. I get it rarely. Change it and it will be all safe! And Fair! :erm:

How about weather... The weather will effect the road. Example:

Rain - Slippery (Just like Luigi's Cuircuit in Mario Kart Super Curcuit [GBA] )
    Clear - Normal
Snow - Slippery, some hazard, can past through water when it freeze.

    :)

I like this idea. It could be randomized, so you'd need to be prepared

It would be cool if there's an item setting. Like you can enable or disable any item. If it like that, I will disable blue sheel :)

And you can't change any setting in grand prix.
I was going to say that .
Gives you a bit of space to mess around and experiment with things :)
    Its a good idea .
maybe weather could go with the customixzation bit ? maybe just putting certian weather conditions for certain tracks on grand prix .

Well you can choose your weather in sunny, rainy, stormy, random, etc in single or multiple race mode. But in Grand Prix, it would be random but most of the time it would be sunny. To make it easier.

Maybe to make it more interesting (for fun), the weather will be followed followed by the weatherin your country.

But in the Pacific Northwestern United States, it would be raining almost everyday. Some regions have a very limited weatherspan, and we don't want that to affect the game. Cool suggestion though.

Maybe at the beginning of the game like at the title screen it could have something saying: "There is a 40% chance of rain/snow today." Something like a weather forecast? I like it.

I think games that use the Weather Channel (I think Animal Crossing was the only one?) to alter in game stats is brilliant, to be honest. I understand that area's in Africa would never get to experience rain and California would never get Snow, but they could always include an option that allows you to turn the feature off. I mean, if you're not always connected to the internet, it wouldn't work anyway. I think it's a cool idea.

I'd honestly like to see a track creator. I think, at this day in age, Mario Kart is one of the few games that can still get away with out having one, but I do believe it would make a fantastic addition. Add in online play and sharing, and you've got yourself a deal. (Hell, in cooperate the 3DS camera and SD image loading for maximum customization.)

I'd personally like to see a MASSIVE cast. Mario Kart Wii has a lot of characters, but they've dropped characters in the past. (Paratroopa, R.O.B, Donkey Kong Kr., etc) I'd love to see a cast of 50+ characters. Hell, Sluggers did it, and they all had custom animations, too. I would think there would be less animations in a Mario Kart game (when referring specifically to the character) than there would be in a baseball game, and all in all, Sluggers is a far smaller game than Mario Kart. (Size wise, I think Mario Kart was 2. something gigs, while Sluggers is under 2.)

I would love to see, at the very least, the return of all the characters that were removed, include Shy Guy as an actual character (with the ability to change his color), and throw in others.

Rob was in Ds version, not sure about other versions.
He was the last one you could unlocked and in my opinion one of the best!

R.O.B was indeed in the DS version of Mario Kart. He was among my favorite characters, and I was pretty upset to see that they removed him in Mario Kart Wii, but added Funky Kong.

I would looooove a track creator! That would add a ton of replay value to the game for me (as if it needed more anyway). I would want it to have more depth than say the stage creator on Brawl. More variety in themes, objects, etc.

Foremost is the chromatic substance accomplishment to Picklegod! Pickle contributes to all parts of the forum, stays astir, and mostly is awful to everyone he meets. A wonderful, intelligent somebody, Pickle testament now better us with every day NF decisions. Approval Picklgod!
