I absolutely hate using "Up" to jump, so I would like either the X button or Y button to be jump. I think it would work well like this:

    A - Attacks
    B - Special Attacks
    Y - Jump
    X - Jump

    L - Grab
    R - Block/Roll when you press a direction

    Analog Slider - Movement
    D-Pad - Taunts

    Start - Pause
    Select - No fucking idea

I think that would work great as it's similar to the Gamecube layout, since the 3DS is missing a Z button. X&Y on the Gamecube were both jump, A was attack, B was special, Z was grab, and the L&R buttons were for block/rolling.

Both of those suggestions sound good. I suppose it could work after all. I don't know if I would buy one, though. I definitely wouldn't buy Brawl if they ported it over. I have it for the Wii and I'm happy enough with that, so what would be the point? If they released a brand new Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS and they didn't release it for the Wii, then I'd maybe buy it, but if they released it for both, I'd go for the Wii one.

The only problem with that is the fact that most people, myself included, use double shoulders for grabbing. I think that any controller discrepancies could be ironed out by allowing players to customize their own set up.

I actually use Up to jump. The only time I use X or Y is when I'm coming out of a roll to jump.

Select could be used in the Pause menu. We haven't had a Smash Bros game on a console that's actually had a select button, sooo....

Oh, and if there were a hand held Smash Bros, I would LOVE to have snapshots and movies. Those two features were among my favorite aspects of Brawl.

    Edit
I doubt they'll be releasing another Smash Bros for the Wii. One for the 3DS is far more likely.

I would love that and would probably end up playing the DS version more than the Wii or GC one.

Nintendo could probably take that cover, put a little work into it, and make it real. That is how good it is.

Nope. If you ask me, I think it's best on a flat-screen 48-inch HD television from Sharp. I really don't think I'd purchase a SSB game on DS. It's just not me.

I prefer the 32" plasma from Insignia, but that's just me. :) But why call it Super Smash Bros. Brawl? They've already released that for Wii and it would be kind of late for another console debut. I would think of another name.

SSB 3DS would be good because it is one of those games that you would play for an entire ten hour road trip. I agree, it probably would not be as good as the others, but the portability is what would make the game a sucess.

It would probably be better as a new SSB , with new features instead of just being tha same as another one .

The controls should be customizable, because some people (like me) broke their DS R and L buttons.

I didn't really break them as much as I dispositioned them. Now, I have to push the buttons in an awkward way for them to work.

That would be a nice feature to continue on with if they did make a ssb for 3ds. I highly doubt it will be brawl though. It's just too late for them to release it on another console. Make a new game, or dont do it at all. because all the past games have been on different consoles.
