I'll go with Poo. He was a boring character, introduced incredibly late in his game, left for a dungeon or two immediately after joining, and had no redeeming aspects other than PSI Starstorm. His copy ability was practically worthless, too. Honorable mention to Nick Bruiser for being a terrible replacement for Mike Tyson. |

"I tink Zeruda get stale, so I make Windu Waika. You hate Windu Waika and tink it fo' babies so I forrow OoT and make Tuwairaito Purincessu. Ohhhhh...but noooooo...now you hate Tuwairaito Purincessu. You rovu Windu Waika Now! You Don't Know whattu you rike! So at this E3 I make morphu with Tuwairaito Purincessu and Windu Waika carred Skywardu Swortu. And you dontu rike skywardu swortu too! You rovu Windu Waika and Tuwairaito Purincessu now! Dats why I make Wii Sports at reast kidsu and moms wirr arways rike it!" - I think Mr. Miyamoto made a good point. I know it's a little off-topic, but it's kinda true. Personally, OoT was the best Zelda, but I think TL was the worst Link I've ever seen. |

Toon Link is my favorite Link; Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game :o Fans only complain because they don't get exactly what their memories are (which they don't realize is impossible unless the exact same game is released). Wind Waker was fantastic, so was Twilight Princess, both high-quality and well-produced Zelda games, as was OoT. The problem is that old fans want OoT and nothing else, and anything that deviates too far is instantly bad, and ironically, anything that is too much like it (now they want something new?) is instantly bad to them. If only they could open their minds and see the new games for what they really are... fantastic Zelda experiences, every bit as much as the old games. |

I feel like some of the base points in OOT have just be copied into to the later games , time for some new ideas

By the base points in OoT, what do you mean? Base points in the entire franchise like combat and dungeon exploration? What different are they going to do? Why change a perfect combat system (aside from adding new moves), why change the way dungeons work (actually some fresh ideas to this were added in WW and TP), I mean, what else are they going to do that's better? Skyward Sword is changing a lot anyway, from combat to the way the game progresses ;o I don't really like it when people say that things like base elements were 'just copied' into newer games. No offense or anything, sorry if I sound rude D: But each new Zelda brings a new innovation to the gameplay, even if it doesn't change the basic foundation of how the game works |

It's not that the Wind Waker itself was bad, it's just that I hated the character designs. I mean, really: Ocarina of Time's Link just made him look awesome. To me, in that one, he REALLY looked like the Hero of Time. I mean, he looked like he had a righteous heart and courageous face. I mean, look at him: ![]() But, in Wind Waker, it looked like a watered down version of Link. He was just too cartoony for me. It didn't give me that, "Hero of TIme" feel that OoT's Link did. ![]() This doesn't look like a hero to me. It looks more like a kid in an elf costume with a mischievious smile clutching a toy sword and shield. The TP Link was ok, but he didn't look TOO much like a hero. Well, he did, but he looked more like a "What am I fighting for?" wandering hero than the OoT Link. If anything, the first time I saw the TP Link, I thought he looked a little depressed. The OoT Link looked like he knew what he was fighting for, and he looked brave and heroic. Wind Waker's Link was too cartoony, non-hero looking, and too poorly detailed. The TP Link looked ok, but like I said, he looked kind of emo, and he looked more like a wanderer out to do the right thing, rather than a brave and courageous hero. These are only my opinions, however. Skyward Sword's Link looks cool, it seems Mr. Miyamoto went back to his OoT roots with this one. But, IDK, there's just something epic about OoT's Link. Tingle is a servant, or rather, slave, of Uncle Rupee. Whoever becomes a Tingle automatically gains the green and red outfit. Also, such a person will become dependent of Rupees themself. For a Tingle, being without Rupees equals death. If a Tingle succeeds in getting enough Rupees for Uncle Rupee, the latter becomes incredibly powerful and capable of turning everyone into Tingles (i.e. enslaving everyone). As such, it's up to the first Tingle that is created by Uncle Rupee during his attempt to conquer the world to stop Uncle Rupee before it is too late. |

Ohh, I get what you're saying Handywork, and I actually agree with you on most of that. I adore Wind Waker Link's design though, and I think you chose a bad picture of him. I never liked that picture myself :p A better picture would be - Spoiler because it's big Anyway, I do think OoT Link was the design that most reflected the Hero of Time, a true hero. But you know, that was the only Hero of Time. When you think about it, both WW and TP Link's designs reflect their characters. They weren't raised like OoT Link was. For WW, you said it looks more like a little kid in an elf costume. And the funny thing is, that's exactly what he is! He's only 12, and he's just in a costume of the hero of time that he had to wear for his birthday :p But his design reflects that. He was raised in a loving, supporting community with an involved family that loved him. Suddenly his sister is kidnapped and the courage of the reincarnated hero awakens, and he's thrust into a grueling quest. Unlike OoT Link, he had a stable, suppoted life before hand, and he hadn't known hardship before. Same goes for TP Link. He grew up in a loving and supporting community, as a role model to those younger. He never knew much hardship until he was thrust into the role of hero by Midna. And that's just the thing, you said he didn't really look like he knew what he was fighting for... And that's exactly right. What was he fighting for? A kingdom he didn't even live in? A shadowy stranger who took advantage of him? His adventure started with those dear to him being kidnapped, but after helping them... he was made a hero pretty much out of obligation. OoT Link grew up with almost nothing but hardship though... He had no guardians, no supportive community. He didn't know who he was, or what he was. A fairy never came to him, why? If he was a Kokiri, shouldn't he get a fairy? And Mido and co. mocked him for it. His only open friend was Saria (which is why I <3 Saria so much). When he was called on to become the hero, he was ready. He had nothing to lose, and nowhere else to go, and he became the Hero of Time. So I agree with you on your points, I just think WW Link's design is wonderful :p And I also agree about SS Link; I noticed that he looks more masculine in-game than ever before. I really like how he looks too :D |
