To me, I always think that remakes ruin the original feeling of the game.

I understand where you are coming from, but if it's just a port, then it wont be seen as anything more than a port - and those don't sell as much as enhanced ports do. Maybe include the original quest and a + mode? I mean, I WANT more content, but I don't want anything that'll ruin the original feeling.

Also, to dissect a few of these screenshots, did anyone notice that Wuhu Island (from Wii Sports Resort) is in Mario Kart 3DS? Does this mean some kind of Nintendo crossover? Most likely not - do remember, Mii's were in MKW, so I guess it makes sense that there would be some Mii courses in MK. Though, since nothing like this has been done before....it's definitely possible.
Maybe we'll finally have Ura Zelda included. =P

But, seriously. There probably will be some way to change the difficulty. Probably some bugs/glitches fixed. Boss mode, maybe? All up in the air until more details are revealed. But, I do like what Nintendo's doing. Since this will be the first legal way to play OoT away from your home and on the road.

Also, haven't really looked at the MK3DS pics. But, maybe there's a stage like that. Or maybe it's just there as a placeholder until they can come up with more stages.

Yeah, that's why I'm against it and would just like a port.

    @IceCatraz...
Sorry for the blonde moment... But, what do you mean by an "a+ mode"? Like, a Master Quest sort of a thing?

Oh, I meant a "Plus Mode." There are many games out there that reward you for beating the original game by giving you a new mode to play. Most of the time, it's the same game but with added features. That way, you can play the game untouched, and then play an "enhanced" version.

    Edit
The fact that the game is on a different console should "ruin" the remake, in that sense. Simply porting the game and leaving it alone wouldn't be anywhere near as effective as an enhanced port. I'm hoping for a few new side dungeons and items and such. Maybe nothing to change the original story, but something to better the feeling.

Ahh, I see what you mean now.

    *Facepalm*
I actually thought you wrote "a+ mode" rather than "+ mode". Didn't read that properly. My bad...

It's ok. Anywho, here are some higher res pics of OOT3D:

    Quote:

    Some news about OOT3DS
    Quote:

    - You can turn off the HUD in Zelda with the controller on-screen
    - Nintendo looking to match battery life of the DSi
    - Regarding orchestrated music in Zelda for Wii, the number of staff working at Nintendo has increased to write more songs
    - Pikmin 3 not brought to E3 since Miyamoto didn’t want it to be a distraction for other games
    - “Rest assured, though, we are very hard at work on Pikmin.”
    - Developers want Skyward Sword to have streamlined combat, which is why you can drink a potion and move at the same time
    - Same person who worked on the whip in Spirit Tracks is working on it for Skyward Sword
    - The game will, of course, involve puzzles and exploring as well as combat (because of this, he doesn’t seem to think players getting tired will be an issue)

Some news about Kingdom Hearts 3DS
    Quote:

here was some confusion game about today’s Kingdom Hearts announcement for the 3DS. Thankfully, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto cleared up the confusion on his Twitter account.

“KH3D is a completely original title. With this and KHRc, two KH games will appear on portable game machines. Everything begins from this video [shown at E3].”

And some news regarding the vitality sensor:
    Quote:

This was something I was thinking about today. I was pretty much sure that the Wii Vitality Sensor would should up at E3 in some form, but it was strangely missing. So, why did Nintendo decide against showing off the peripheral? Well, according to a spokesperson, it was more or less explained that it wasn’t right for the show. With all of the big announcements, including the first showing of the 3DS, that makes sense. I’m just wondering when Nintendo will talk about the Vitality Sensor again. Will it be this year?

Wow. Kingdom Hearts is an original title. That's great news. It's also good to hear about the battery life - 8 hours is good, and with third party accessories, we can hopefully jack that up to 14, like the DSi.

I don't think so, not yet. I'm hoping it's near $200 - I want better cameras. I think that, by this time, each MP will be a bit cheaper than before.

    Edit
    Quote:

    - Real-time, but not playable
    - 60 FPS
    - Mario and Luigi look at each other when they’re close (head + eyeball rolling)
    - They’ll glare at each other
    - Wii Sports Resort, Peach’s Castle tracks
    - Blossom petals fall and in the player’s face on the Peach’s Castle track

Hand held Mario kart....in 60 FPS? Wow.

(Temporarily closed. ...Gwaargh!) *doo wee doo wee doo*

Hey Riddle, Nintendo knows what they're doing. Aonuma and Iwata and Miyamoto are all geniuses, and all know what's good for a game. Specifically with OoT. I was watching an interview with Aonuma a while back, and he said that the whole reason OoT hadn't been remade is because he hadn't yet found a way to remake it to where it would keep its value to players who played it on the N64.

Since they're remaking it now, that must mean he has found the way to comunicate the same OoT feel present in N64 on the 3DS.

You gotta have a lot of respect for that man.... <3

And ORCHESTRATED MUSIC IN SKYWARD SWORD

EDIT - Yay, Pikmin 3 was mentioned! I dunno why he thought it would distract from the others, but I guess he knows what he's doing.

Classic Controller confirmed for GoldenEye (via IGN hands on)

Yes. For those of us that want to play without motion control.

    Edit
Also, some old school 2D games got 3D facelifts on the 3DS. That's pretty neat. I hope there's some kind of "3DSWare" store.

I can't believe people are complaining about the Ocarina of Time remake. It gives me, at least, a reason to play the best game ever made, again. Albeit with better visuals and easier-to-use controls (like switching boots by touching the touch screen).

I'm loving the orchestral soundtrack for Skyward Sword. The story seems very interesting as well. Perhaps it won't be the same boring "Link saves Zelda from Ganon" again and again. But the overall game is growing on me a bit. It had a poor Press Conference demo, but it was understandable because of the interference. It could be really fucking cool. I like the dashing.

But everything about the 3DS has me absolutely psyched. I cannot wait for at least a dozen of the announced games. Paper Mario, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, 64 remakes like Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time. Fuck, this system is going to have amazing games. Already looking to have a better catalog than the original DS, not to mention the ability to play the upcoming DS games like Golden Sun and Pokemon Black/White.

Oh, I don't know if this has already been mentioned or not, but there's apparently going to be a new Pilotwings game on the 3DS called "Pilotwings Resort".

I'm not that excited about it and probably won't get it. I thought the SNES one was good, but I didn't think it was amazing and I doubt I'll be fully rushing out to the shop for the new one.
There hasn't been a Pilotwings game since the Nintendo 64. (Infact, there has only been the N64 one and the SNES one). So, there's another series revival for you.

Have you seen the screenshots of it? It looks extremely similar to a "Wii" game, you know? The island it shows below your characters looks like Fuji island or whatever it's called (from Wii Sports Resort). It doesn't actually look like a real Pilotwings game.

EDIT: I looked at the screenshots again and yeah, it looks exactly like Wii Sports Resort. Same island, uses Mii characters, and even has the same font and everything. Not impressed.

First off, I have to see the entire conference. I've only seen bits and pieces of everything.

The next Layton looks awesome as well as the storyline.
Goldeneye. Please take Daniel Craig out, that's not his game.
Metroid: Other M: Oh God yes, I want Samus now. (Hmm, that sounds dirty.)
Kirby: Epic Yarn: I want to make love to that game. (What the hell is wrong with me?)
DK Country: Oh my, that was unexpected.
Golden Sun: I don't know why, but the graphics look horrible.
Legend of Zelda: Why a mix of TP and WW graphics? I would have loved another visually stunning LOZ. I'm also a little indifferent on the storyline.

I'd talk more but I lost my train of thought and I'm really tired.
Voted "A serious lurker who'll one day live in a box!" Thanks Everyone!
