I saw this on the Nintendo Channel yesterday. While the whole side scrolling 2-D is different, I didn't like what I saw. I'd like another first person shooter as opposed to this. Metroid could work well with the MotionPlus for as engaging as most of the games are. What I say really doesn't matter because I'll get it anyway. |

It doesn't seem old school. That's what's wrong with it.

You have a point, but side scrolling shooters are just weird to me. |

That looked fantastic. I'm very much considering buying this. Of course, that means I'll then have to go back and buy/play all the other Metroids... Ah, well. It'll be worth it, if I do (it definitely was with LoZ). The concept of a big-name Nintendo character actually having a character (and voice) is also very intriguing. |

My first impressions was that it wasn't any good at all, but after the newest trailer I'm definitely considering to buy it! |

I have to agree with this. From Mario to Link, most of Nintendo's characters have as much character and depth as a background character on Full House. I gotta say that I really do hope that Nintendo makes the move to have Samus be a character that has depth, emotion, and a story worth telling. Edited by Unsound M, Apr 4 2010, 08:19 PM.

Ahaha, I used to watch that all the time :p Though, Link has considerable depth and character to him (particularly in the 'toon' games, like Wind Waker), it's just more so towards the character of the 'hero of legend' not so much him personally, most of the time, seeing as they're reborn/descendants of Link. Which makes it much more interesting, considering the concept of 'the hero that will be sent by the Goddesses.' I know, I know; I'm going off on a tangent again. Bear with me; I'm not trying to hijack the tread this time ;p Wind Waker is arguably the game where Link has the most personal character. He's not some stoic kid like in OoT and MM. Though, he did grow up with love and support, whereas OoT Link grew up virtually alone and constantly mistreated... Anyway, what I was saying is that this is one of the things that makes Wind Waker my favorite LoZ - the characters' memorable personalities. We actually get to understand Link as a person in this game, and Zelda also. Look at TP Zelda - from the three-ish times you see her, you don't get much but a 'dedicated and caring princess in distress' feel. But then you look at Tetra in WW, whose personality is surprisingly vibrant, in contrast, which might have something to do with the fact the she has a much larger role in the story's events (something I hope she has in future games; events like these help reveal personalities). Spirit Tracks also did a fine job with Link and Zelda's character (particularly Zelda's). I just hope Zelda Wii does something as well. But anyway, I agree with you also. I hope that Samus's voice will be a nice addition to the game, giving depth and feel to scenes and environments and whatnot. |
