With the recent release of Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver there has been posts talking about Pokemon all over the place. So I decided to make this general Pokemon discussion topic to funnel it all into one place. So yeah, POKEMON DISCUSS! |

Good idea. My god I love this game. It has made me appreciate the first two generations so much more and now I use Pokemon I never knew were good. I love the heck out of Golduck now. |

I love it as well. It's easily the most addicting main series Pokemon game I've played (I even stopped played PMD3 for this, and that's saying a whole lot). The environments are beautiful and I keep finding small, bonus features around that make me very happy. For instance, I love how you can hear the water when you approach it. I had never thought of that in a main series Pokemon game, I suppose because I was so used to it not being there. Another great addition is the pieces of artwork that are shown when you enter certain places, especially the fact that they change lighting with the times of day (THAT shows effort, and it's not only the color-scheme that changes to reflect time-change - sometimes you can see different Pokemon drawn into the environment with the day change). And I ADORE the following feature, but I blabbed about that in the What Are You Playing thread, so I'll spare you. It's a very fantastic game, though. Edited by Togeshroob, Mar 20 2010, 10:45 PM.

I really need to get this game, but the lack of money is holding me back at the moment. |

I like the Pokewalker feature a lot. I can catch rare Pokemon so easily now! And I can't wait to get the Yellow Forest! |

I'm such a Pokemon noob now. I used to love it when I was younger, back when it started up. I remember the whole craze back in Primary School. Everyone was into it. Everyone used to watch the show and we'd all be trading Pokemon cards in the playground and linking up our Gameboy Colors and battling each other. Yellow, Red and Blue were amazing games. Yellow is my personal favourite. I stopped watching Pokemon eventually and never bought any games after those three. (Well, I only owned Yellow and Red). I don't really know any Pokemon after the first generation. I found my copies of Yellow and Red lying out in the garage the other day. I wish I could find my Gameboy Color so I can play them again. Well, I suppose I could always get the roms. But, nothing beats playing old games on the actual console.

You might think about getting HeartGold or SoulSilver, RoR. They're remakes of the sequels to Red/Blue (called Gold and Silver). As such, even with the updated graphics and all, it would almost be like picking up where you left off. You won't have to worry about Hoenn or Sinnoh (3rd and 4th gen) Pokemon since this will be in Johto (2nd gen), which contains 2nd gen Pokemon, buy also mixed with 1st gen Pokemon (the ones you'd remember). |

I know very few from Johto. (The show was called Johto Journey's, wasn't it?) Hmm... I wouldn't be able to play them at the minute because I don't have a DS/DSi. You can download emulators for those though, can't you? |

Well, one of the seasons was called Johto Journies (the other was Master Quest, and maybe the was another, I'm not sure). And yes, there are DS emulators, if that's what you want to do. I'm not sure of any to recommend, though. Sorry :/ |
