Is his name just Mario, or is it Mario Mario? If you choose the 2nd choice, isn't that just the same as Mario?
I know a few teachers at my school who only have one name, and when writing any first or last name papers, they just write their name twice. Does that mean Mario has no first name?

In the Mario movie it was Mario Mario. Everywhere else it's just Mario, no last name.

How do you know that his first name isn't his last name? How come Luigi gets a first name and Mario doesn't?
Was Mario's parents just too lazy or something?

Mario's Parents are lazy, as shown in Yoshi's Island. They have a bird make thier babies (At least I think) and give them to them.

Nintendo made "the Mario brothers" but since Mario was known as Mario from the start... and Luigi isn't called Mario... for them to be the "the Mario brothers" Luigi would have to have Mario as a last name, thus so would Mario.

Link (LoZ) doesn't have a last name either... Or Kirby. And the Animal Crossing boy/girl doesn't even have a name at all! Except what you name the file, which doesn't count as an official name otherwise Link wouldn't either, as you can name him in Zelda games.

Fox McCloud and Samus Aran, however, get full names. Nintendo can be so confusing sometimes.

You know, this is probably one of those things you shouldn't read too much into, much like how you've never seen Mario fix a boiler despite being a plumber.

    Ahahahaha

Well now, just because he's a plumber doesn't mean he doesn't know how to fix a boiler. I'm a graphic designer, but I do know how to wire a 3 way circuit.

I think the term "Mario Bro's" assumes that both of their last names are, in fact, Mario. When people are coupled together, they always have the same last name - Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, The Smiths, etc.

I dunno. Suppose they were step brothers with the same first name. Mario, being the older, gets to use his given first name whereas Luigi is forced to use his middle name. Or suppose their dad was someone like George Foreman. Every one of that dude's five sons is named George. EVERY. ONE. Would it be unreasonable to call them the George Brothers?

Anyway their last name is obviously Segali, so the better question is, what is Mario's Middle name?
