Not yet, you haven't. All the main sites for Pokemon coverage have nothing of the sort yet. I'm hoping that we'll have a leak by the end of this week, or sometime during the next. |

The latest Pokemon confirmed are these elemental monkeys. A monkey trio, hitting the elements grass, water, and fire. |

Isshu is officially based off of New York City! There has been much debate among the fanbase (mainly Americans vs. the world) as to wheter Isshu was based on NYC or some other similar place in China, and now there's confirmation that it's based off of NYC. http://pokebeach.com/2010/09/isshu-based-off-new-york It all fits too well - the city part of Isshu is Lower Manhattan, the desert north of that represents Ground Zero, the park north of that represents Central Park, etc etc. Plus the river systems of Isshu are a direct match to those around NYC, as is the overall geographic shape. There was a picture a while back that that detailed all this, but I can't find it. Ah well. And then there's the fact that black people and (north american) football players are included. Not to mention the Native American-themed war eagle Pokemon. As Choppy would say - USA USA USA |

Do you ever remember seeing an African American in a Pokemon game before? I don't remember any. |

![]() No but really, Brock's the closest to black Pokemon has come. Do remember, Black refers to skin color, not ethnicity. So, Brock would be black, not African. (He could be African, but he's definitely Black.) Edited by IceCatraz, Sep 9 2010, 09:15 PM.

Brock is supposed to be Asian, IIRC. He's dark, but not black. And yes, there are trainer sprites that are North American football players. By the way, the entire book that this was confirmed in was just released, and is being translated now. According to it, the ENTIRE Isshu region is based on New York, not just the main parts. It's 60 pages or something, so it'll be a while translating. |

He's actually supposed to be "American" - when they released pokemon over seas, they realized that, surprise!, not everyone is pale and short, so they decided to make a taller, darker character. At least, that's what I remember reading. And that's great news! Hopefully where I grew up will be in it! |

I'm actually a bit off with the Football players. Then again, I absolutely despise the sport (and the season just started, so here starts my anger.) I really can't wait to see all of the new pokemon though. I wonder what the new Pseudo Legendary is going to look like! |
