I have to confess, I've always loved my starter Pokemon. Venasaur, Swampert, Empoleon and Meganium... these Pokemon have helped me throughout the all games; I could never part with them
I have to agree, I just take it as a challenge to start with a Pokémon and then train with them untill they're Lv 100.
I'm the same. My starter usually stays with me always.

I guess I'm too freaking sentimental, then.

Maybe I should see a shrink about this ... then again, I do plan to become one. Guess I'll just see myself =]

Good luck with that sir. I never really felt connections with a Pokemon unless they did some amazing stuff for me, but I could never throw them away.

I guess I'm just into my Pokemon, because there are some times where I'd just go adventuring with them.

For instance, I'd be bored and it's close to midnight. So I take my Empoleon and my Starraptor, and we just go out exploring near the Old Chateau. They're in their late 80s, but I'm doing it just for fun.

Many instances like this with them and many other Pokemon have given me connections.

Loving the Water evolution. Water Dialga? Awesome.

Fire one looks like a mix between a fire pokemon and a rock. God, please no Fire/Rock. Pleaseeeeee no.

That'd suck so hard. I'm sure they'd never do something so degrading to a starter.

He already has marks against him, just from seeing some comments. He doesn't need that.

Duders, the fire evolutions look fucking awesome! I love them. Actually, I like all of them. They all look great!

And pencil me dumb, but why is Fire/Rock bad?

It's just not a good typology, IMO.

Look at how it works for Magcargo

Mainly because of the abundant weaknesses it would have, all common.

    It'd be weak against:

    Water x 4
    Steel
    Ground
    Grass
    Fighting
    Rock

It's a shitty typing. Unless they give him a SHIT load of Special Defense and Defense, he'd be an insanely crappy pokemon period, let alone for a starter.

    Edit
Fuck yeah, Famitsu gave it a perfect score.

    Anticipation ... rising.

As I've stated many, many times already, I want to see the Gen as a whole. So excited about that =]

Well, Famitsu is known to be rather generous.

But their generosity is welcome here. I'm glad to hear that we have a good game on our hands.

Actually, for the longest time, Famitsu was known to be insanely critical - they've been operating for a long time, yet they've only given out 15 perfect awards. They've given out more perfect scores this year and last then they have their entire life time, but it would only make sense with games getting better and better.
