    3D? Pokemon Stadium was gross.

I prefer the sprites, just perhaps with a bit more animation to them.

I really hope they add evolutions to some of the old Pokemon, like Stantler.
Dunsparce. Probably the most least thought of, obscure, unimportant Pokemon ever. It NEEDS an evolution.

And Ice, I found you on the beach. As you've probably noticed, lots of people include "read the rules" in the intro threads; you see, Pokebeach is plagued with hordes of inexperienced members joining and not knowing general forum etiquitte and whatnot, spamming everywhere and making life annoying, so... ever since I was there, there's been a big push by the mods to control this, so everyone tries to make sure that the rules are read.

There are some really great people from back in the day still there, like bacon, Zilla, c-m (now known as Heavenly Spoon), PMJ, all the other mods, to name very few. So try not to let the swarm of the above mentioned members deter you.

Also, there are some really good fanfics (Seven Days of Terror - PMJ, something about Accounting Zyflair wrote, to name a couple, not including bacon and c-m's hilarious mocking stories (like paint-flicker-gemini...something, and Seven Days of Horror)).

But I should probably stop talking about Pokebeach here o.o

This sounds pretty sweet, though what I think they really need to do is get rid of the sprite based visual style and maybe turn the game full 3D. I know it's a little too ambitious for Nintendo to do that, but I'm getting kinda sick of these damn sprites with terrible low quality sound effects.

I really hope they add evolutions to some of the old Pokemon, like Stantler. What a piece of shit that Pokemon is. Maybe if it had an evolution, it might be a little more respectable. The same can be said with a couple of other Pokemon, like Corsola, Plusle & Minun, Pachirisu, and Carnivine. They all suck and need an evolution.

Imagine two Pokemon games in one year? That'd be awesome, though likely the new game will come out in 2010 in Japan, but in 2011 here in North America.
Gamefreak does the game design, not Nintendo. I'd rant to them :p Though, I like the 2D sprites - I just think the battles need more flair. Most competitive battlers turn off the effects anyway, but I think the actual battles/backgrounds/attacks could use a lot more oomph. The backgrounds have been pretty much static for the longest - as long as the core mechanic doesn't change, it'll still be pokemon.

Some pokemon (like Corsola) don't need an evolution - they do what they do well, and there needs to be some kind of separation for hard core battles and tiers. An evolution would kick Corsola from NU to NE, and it'd kill some teams. (I used to use Corsola as a staller while I set up Ninetails.)

That would be awesome, but as you said, it's highly improbable. I'm actually doubting the 5th generation release this year - Pokemon games tend to come out early in the year (like HG/SS), so I unless the DS is going to lack titles in their other hot time (November - January) (which it won't, the DS has a crap load of good games coming out this year), I don't think they'll release the game at a conventinal time.

I guess they might release it around the time other key technologies come out - Natal, PS3 Wii mote, etc -, but again, it's just really odd. Either way, we probably won't get it until next year :/

    Edit

I'll be sure to check them out Togeshroob. I've got a bit of house cleaning to do, but I'll try to build my team in my down time. I also want to make an avatar and signature for the form - I find members are more likely to be friendlier to members with avatars than those without them :/

Dude, you knew what I meant... I didn't say Gamefreak, because if Gamefreak wanted to something like an MMO, Nintendo probably say no and move on. I'm saying this is the case, but Nintendo usually goes with their laurels. I knew Gamefreak developed the Pokemon games. And fine, Corsola doesn't need an evolution, but I meant Pokemon that only have one evolution, and suck, like Stantler. I hate these useless Pokemon that are never used.

Er, I said that because Gamefreak is the one that actually handles the design of Portable Pokemon games - Genius Sonority and Hal Laboratory are the ones that did Pokemon Colosseum/Battle Revolution and Pokemon Stadium/2, respectively. The actual design is done by the developers, not the producers, which is why you'd send them suggestions, not Nintendo. Nintendo has the final say, but they aren't the ones tossing out ideas - GF has an Exclusive Nintendo Contract, but they aren't a First Party publisher.

And Stantler doesn't have one evolution - Stantler is a base pokemon with no evolutions. I understood what you said, but what I meant was that adding evolutions to some pokemon, such as Corsola, changes the competitive tiers, more often than not for the worse. Stantley isn't more than fodder meat, but SOMEONE needs to play that role :/. There are pokemon that received evolutions that are still widely used, such as Scyther, but others, such as Electabuzz and Magmortar, aren't. I just think adding evolutions to some pokemon is not needed - though, I definitely agree - Minun and Plusle need evolutions. And they better fucking look like Pikachu and Raichu.

I thought that pokemon should've stopped before they made Diamond and Pearl. I thought the new pokemon sucked ass. Literally. So, i'm not really excited. Diamond and pearl were one of the reasons I stopped playing pokemon.
Thats what I thought, too. There is way too much freaking Pokemon, and some would like to say "There are millions of species of animals on Earth", well on Earth, we don't go around with storage devices called Pokeballs and throwing them to catch them all, we are playing a GAME, and some of us wouldn't like to go around having to catch millions of Pokemon.

I understand what you're saying, but what do you expect them to do? Can you imagine the rage they would get if the Pokemon series ended? What I think they're probably going to do is wait for there to be either a game that every takes to be the best one yet, or reach 1000 Pokemon and then stop.

I never said they had to end, more like, just make a spin-off game with a new region to explore, but not new Pokemon? like Colosseum and XD, and Mystery Dungeon, and Pokemon Pinball, and Ranger, and Puzzle Challenge, and other spin offs.
They don't need new Pokemon just to make us happy, maybe add in 3 special Pokemon in some of the games or something, but not having to go and make 100 new ones every time.

That's what they do. Almost every year.

    Pokémon Puzzle League
    Pokémon Puzzle Challenge
    Pokémon Trozei!
    Blue/Red Rescue Team
    Explorers of Time/Darkness
    Pokémon Ranger
    Shadows of Almia
    Path of Light
    Pokémon Pinball
    Pokémon Snap
    Pokémon Trading Card Game
    Hey You, Pikachu!
    Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire
    Pokémon Channel
    Pokémon Dash
    Pokémate
    Pokémon Battrio
    My Pokémon Ranch
    Pokémon Rumble
    PokéPark Wii

And hell, even the Pokémon Pikachu and Pokémon mini. There's more pokemon spin off games than there are color games. If you don't want to catch 100 new pokemon, then don't buy the game.

You just made it seem like I didn't know who developed the game, which I 100% knew anyways.

But anyways yeah, if they just replaced all of the sprites with 3D models, but kept the same birds-eye view of the overworld, with some crazy 3D battle scenes, then I think the game could be really cool. They also need to change some of the Pokemon's "growl" or whatever it's called. The first generation Pokemon are still using the same sounds from 1998 - they need to change it.

I like the idea of junking the sprites. It might make the game feel a little more deep.

Honestly, I just hope that they stop making the Pokemon look like robots, and more like animals.

Oh yeah, stop making legendaries like they're popcorn. And don't make those legendary confused pokemon that are like half legendaries.

    Makes me mad. :pinch:

I actually like that they haven't changed the sounds. I know it's weird, but even when I was little, I would go into the Pokedex and listen to all of their cries/growls/whatever you want to call them. Makes me feel a little nostalgic too.

Well, the DS is capable of running 4gigs of data (or more), and most pokemon games are about 128 megs big. If Nintendo were to really upscale things and give each pokemon a few different cries (and not engine cries either - each pokemon only has one cry, and there's an engine that changes the pitch of the cry/flips it around for the "faint" cry), I'm sure it wouldn't be too much at all - they definitely have the room.

The online for pokemon is already nigh perfect - lag is never an issue because it's turn based, rules are already set in stone, etc. Hell, there's even the ability to save a video of your fight and watch it whenever you want or send it to friends, which really is awesome.

What I would like to see in the 5th generation of pokemon:

-At least two regions/at least 16 badges. I mean come on, why the hell not? Gold and Silver were the only games that had it, and that's bull shit.

-Evolutions for Parchirisu, Plusle, Minun, Pinser, and Heracross - the last two deserve them the most, and a blue/red Raichu would be sweet - as long as they had different stats and move sets. And wtf Parchirisu, why the hell did they even add that thing?

-Ability to rechallange gym leaders for different rewards (and the badge collection would show how many times you beat them with a little number next to the badge.)

-Different HMs. Cut, Fly, and Surf are really the only ones that should be kept. At least 10, but make them erasable easier.

    - 3 Legendaries and maybe 2 pseudos - Diamond and Pearl went beserk with the legendaries. Really. One legendary for each version, and then one for both. Pseudos (Dragonite, Salamance, Tyranitar) need at least 2 for this generation to make up for the lack last generation. (Garchomp got switched to uber because of his insane move pool/stats)

-Rideable pokemon - hear me out on this one. First off, I want the sprite of the pokemon that used surf to actually show - not just some generic lapras or board/fish looking thing. Same thing with fly.
--I think that one of the HM's should be "Run" or Gallop or something like that, and it can be used to cross large prairies and deserts and such faster. If they made it into a mini game of sorts, that'd be cool, too.

-Deeper animation for battles. I think each pokemon should have at least 4 different sprites for when they're attacked. Or, at the very least, the pokemon should change color when they're afflicted with a status. (Purple for poison, red for burned, blue for frozen, etc)

    Among other things.
