It would be totally awesome to have a dragon eevee, but wouldn't that be a huge leap? I mean, dragon are like the ''OMG!!!'' type, there's yet many more ''ordenary'' types to make out of it... Why not fighting, rock, bug, steel, ground, flying, ghost or poison? I bet they'll ending up doing all the types, so why do the dragon type now when theres so many more ''crappy'' types left?

Missunderstand me correct, it would be awesome with a dragon but I can't get it to sound right...

And just to discuss the other topic here; I didn't really get to dig so deep into the 3rd gen at the time it came out... The first was all over the place so it was hard to miss, the second was my first Pokemon game but I didn't get much of the third ones untill a few months before fourth came along... Love the games and the Pokemons, but it's not my game, you guys know what I mean?

The types "wow" factor has nothing to do with it. It has to do with which of the 2 Elementa catagorys the type hapen to be in. Well, here is that copy pasta I wrote to explain it.

    MFreak

I know a lot of people have been wondering what the next eeveelution will be, but it has shocked me that very few people know that the eeveelutions follow a pattern and the next one is almost 100% going to be dragon.
Here is my reason why... There are two catagories of Elemental types. There are Physical Types, and Special Types.
The Physical types are Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, and Steel.
The Special types are Fire, Water, Electric, Psychic, Dark, Grass, Ice, and Dragon. In other words, every member of the eeveelution family (except Eevee itself) has been a Special type, and the only Special Elemental type that doesn't have an eeveelution is Dragon.
Sorry to everybody who wanted Steel, or Ghost, or Bug, or any of those things. Unless Nintendo sudenly breaks from this pattern they have been following for 4 Generations, it just won't happen...

Now it is possible that after Dragon they will start doing the other 9 types, but I highly doubt it.

    Starter silhouettes.

Left is fire. Middle is grass. Right is water (also looks like it'll be horrible).

    Just guessing.

The right one looks like an otter... But an otter more shaped like Pascal from Animal Crossing than what I'd expect a pokemon to look like-- at least a bit threatening. But it honestly looked like they were beginning to run out of ideas, so they took features from other starters and smooshed them together into another pokemon. The middle one, for example, looks like a mixture between Chikorita and Turtwig.

Yup, those starters look like Pokemon starters all right. Hopefully they won't go with Fire + Fighting again. One of them looks like it could be electric (the top one because of its tail), but it also looks like it has leaves on its head as well. It looks like the left one is an otter that's water, the top one is like every other grass starter ever, and the right one looks to the be the fire starter.

And I would like to see a new Dragon Eevee evolution, but seriously, they need to draw the line somewhere. Do we really need an Eevee evolution every generation? I think 7 is quite enough, with 8 being the absolute limit.

    @LK - They didn't have any new Eeveelution for 3rd gen ;D

Anyway... Hmm. I really want to like these starters, but... right now I'm finding it a tad hard. Assuming left is fire, middle is grass, and right is water, then -

Fire - Design-wise, I'm liking this one the best so far. It looks a tad strange, but that's a good thing (seeing as the Grass looks rather generic)

Grass - Probably my least favorite as of now. It's just oddly-shaped and like someone said, looks like other starters.

Water - Concept-wise, I love it. That is, if it really is an otter. Design-wise not so much, but I'll have to see the full version to make my decision.

Well remember everyone, these are only silhouettes, which can be misleading. You may end up liking the way they actually look. And also, these are only first forms. There's still 2nd and 3rd forms to see, and no matter how ugly the starter, the 3rd form is always really well designed. At least so far.

I'll save my thoughts for when I see the actual designs. But as far as Eevee's go, I wouldn't doubt any new additions. Hell, they could even add new types.

Thanks a ton Ice. You're always dependable ;D

First of all, the CoroCoro (a maganize in Japan) scans are expected to be leaked at the latest by Wednesday with the full-version of the silhouettes, so be on the lookout.

Mmkay, now I must say that I withdraw everything I said about them. I do happen to like them now. I was reading the thread about them on Pokebeach, and my hopes were restored. Here are some interesting ideas people posted -

There's these three - I would love that fire starter.
An interesting comparison with real animals - Look closely at the blue fill-ins, they're pretty good.
A single of the grass - I would like this one as well.
THERE IS NO WAY THESE ARE WRONG
    A collaboration of many ideas

Note - the ones taken from Deviantart should link to their respective pages.

Some are obviously better than others, but not all those are too shabby. This is mainly to show some creative thinking, rather than assuming they're too much like other starters. The one on the left we were all thinking was fire, only because it bears (a teeny tiny) resemblance to Charmander. Yet, for reasons I'll quote in a second, it's likely the Grass one (the middle being Fire (NOT a Turtwig ripoff - we think that only because it bears a tiny resemblance to Turtwig) and the rightmost being Water). Someone on PBF (OddCrow) did a very insightful examination of the silhouettes that explains some of this -

    OddCrow

    Here's my analysis.
    Posted Image
    LEFT SILHOUETTE-
RED BOX - Tiny notch, indicating that this is a beak, and not the back of a head.

GREY BOX - Feathered hand, not webbed or fingered.

WHITE BOXES - Feet resemble water-fowl (like duck/swan)

PINK BOX - All three shapes have a round bottom, indicating leaves, and not fire.

OTHER - Shape of body is duck-like.

FINAL CALL - A Leaf Duck

    MIDDLE SILHOUETTE-
ORANGE BOXES - Ears very small.

YELLOW BOXES - Flipper like appendages.

BROWN BOX - Rudder like tail.

    OTHER - Buoy like collar

FINAL CALL - A Water Otter

    RIGHT SILHOUETTE -
LIGHT BLUE BOX - Rabbit like ears

DARK BLUE BOX - Curly tail

    PURPLE BOXES - Indicate hooves

OTHER - Rounded body and piglike snout.

    FINAL CALL - A Pig

I like the idea of the leftmost being Grass, actually, and it makes a lot of sense. It could even be Water, seeing how that protrusion is most likely a beak. But grass is most likely; it will just have a beak. Also note that it's most likely not fire on its tail (there's really no way it could be, IMO). A popular idea over at the Beach is that this is a Grass-peacock, not a Grass-duck. I like this idea, personally. Its little 3-pronged tail would, by the 3rd form, be a full-fledged peacock tail, which would be wonderful. You can't go wrong with a peacock ;o There's also the toucan idea, which sounds good as well.

As for the Fire one (likely the pig-looking one), this would be the first time we've had an all fours all the time fire starter, so that's nice. Yep, and those two rounded protrusions on its head - not necessarily leaves. The 3-prong tail on the leftmost one looks is most likely the leaves. Anyway, these two things look a whole lot like rabbit ears, but, seeing as the tail is curly like a pig's and the rest of the body is pig-like, these could very well be pig ears. So a Fire-pig, a Fire-rabbit, or maybe even a donkey.

There's not too much to say about the other one, other than that it could also be a platypus instead of an otter. Another idea was that it could the Grass type, as a panda.

I had forgotten that we must be careful when assuming that these new starters and unoriginal and uninspired, based solely on our interpretations of very vague silhouettes. Just because it seems that one may share a part with a previous starter does not mean it does, and it also doesn't mean it's necessarily of the same type. So for now I'm just going to hope for the best. They've never done bad with the starters before, as far as I'm concerned (yes, that goes for 3rd and 4th gen as well - regardless of your fanhate, you can't make the arguement that they are unoriginal).

EDIT - Updated the idea-pictures section at the beginning of post.
EDIT #2 - Updated it again.

    Tomorrow, most likely.

Though, it's official in that it comes from the official source, but it's unofficial as they will come via leaked scans from a monthly Japanese maganize that provides news like this ;D

If not tomorrow, then Wednesday at the latest. May 15th is when Pokemon Sunday reveals them, but thanks to the scans that always leak, we should know beforehand.

    THEY. ARE. LEAKED!

IMO, they are just too awesome, but I can already smell the fanhate coming on, it always is. To that I must say what the wise WPM said in the news post that this came from - "Just remember! New Pokemon always look ugly / horrible at first! But they always grow on you after a while."

Also some more delicious info from Pokebeach, the translations done so far -

-The male and female are OLDER now, they ARE NOT kids. That is wonderful; now we won't be starting off as some random 10 year old and become the best in a day or two! Not to mention that the character design looks really, really good (I don't even predict much fanhate at all at them).

-The region is far away from the others. Who knows what this could mean for the actual game?

-Region in Japanese is 'Isshu.' I can't wait to know what it is in English.

    (Pokebeach story link)

    Exciting, no? :D
