I want to see Dark/Psychic/Fighting starters.
    That'd be cool.

    Reaper.
    censored black sheep .
I think nintnedo is probaly going to stick with water , fire , grass . it would be interesting to see a dark starter , but if you had a psychic type from the start you would be able to beat almost everything from the start of the game .

I got a feeling that this game will have so much new stuff that it will be overwelming! i remember when I got the Diamond that it was almost tiering with so much new stuff! Almost 100 new Pokemons, new surroundings, new story, new design and new gameplay, it was too much, and now they are doing the same thing again, just taking it another step further!
I am looking forward to these new games but I'm kinda scared that there will be too much to take in at the same time! The Pokemart, Pockecentre and Global Trade centre will be in one building from now on. That's going to be so much easier but it's going to freak me out in the beginning!

How so? I don't see anything different from a Psychic-Type being able to beat almost everything with their first type-affiliated move (Let's say Confusion.) to a Fire-Type's first type-affiliated move (Ember.).

Also their first moves are normal moves, which wouldn't be suitable for any Psychic type. It's later on in the game that all of these Pokemon could be considered deadly.

It isn't the case so much anymore, but in the original Red and Blue the psychic type was a total game killer. If you notice, one of the reasons they introduced dark and steel types is to have some types that aren't push overs to psychic types.

Which is more to my point.

I was just wondering about Sh 700's opinion.

I highly doubt Game Freak will make the starters anything other than the norm. Whilst I agree that they would be way better, Game Freak is never going to do that.

The video of the character walking around in the city is pretty cool. I really like how cities are actually cities now, but just towns with 5 or 6 buildings. Hopefully this will eventually lead Nintendo to make a good console Pokemon game with huge cities and tons of areas to explore.

    They should make a console game, but would it kill the franchise? Taking in account Pokemon Colosseum / Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, that is;

Of course, those games have drifted away from the portable goals too at the very least.

Ah, I'm getting off-topic. My apologies; I'm probably getting this game when it comes out. I wonder what the 3rd game in this generation will be, Gray? xD

(Temporarily closed. ...Gwaargh!) *doo wee doo wee doo*

Hey, Pokemon Colosseum was a fantastic game. It was a huge success, as far as I'm concerned. The drifting away they did was for the good, most definitely.

First of all, the main character. Instead of having some 10 year old goody kid who ends up taking down an entire organization of evil and becoming the greatest trainer in the land in about 25 hours, you have Wes. Judging from Wes's looks, he is somewhere from 18-25 years old. He's part of this criminal gang (NOT like Team Whatever from the main series, this is an actual gang), and at the very beginning you have him planting a bomb in his gang's headquarters, stealing their prized possesion, then zipping away on his awesome hovering motorcyle while the place is exploding.

And did I mention he has a girlfriend? :o

Shortly after, he is wondering around a town called Phenac (based off of Pheonix, Arizona (the whole region is based off of Arizona, meaning its mostly desert and rock)), where he witnesses a girl being kidnapped by two men (she's literally stuffed in a bag). He rescues her, and she joins him.

I mean, how much better is that than "Welcome to the world of Pokemon! You're going to be a great trainer; now choose your Pokemon!" Also, it doesn't revolve around the same old collecting badges and training formula. It actually follows a storyline, and a decent one at that.

It is by far the most 'mature' Pokemon title as of yet. I mean, you could probably take all the Pokemon out of it and it still be about the same (though the story would change a bit). For once, you get to see how Pokemon would work were it in a real world - not in an overly happy, idealistic world like most of the handhelds. For instance, there is a town called Pyrite Town, which is basically a run-down collection of thugs, rouges and dilapidated and rusting buildings, where crime is prevalent. Connected to that is an underground town called The Under, which used to be a mining town, but is now a similar collection of constant nightlife. Other than these, there's actual violence, pretty good writing, a bar, some other things, and this guy.

Also, it has fantastic music; much more inspired than most of the handhelds. If you care you hear some, then here are a few of my favorites -

The First Battle - If you only listen to one, listen to this
Cipher Admin Battle - Pure epicness. Also highly recommended :>
    Relic Forest - Unbelievably peaceful...

And this one for fun -
Miror B's Theme - An awesome salsa song that he (the man in the earlier picture) and his Ludicolo dance to (granted, it's no where NEAR as good as his disco groove in XD, which he moonwalks to)

There's also a musical theme that runs through the game, as well (you can hear parts of it in a couple of those songs). If a game has a musical theme running through its songs, you KNOW it was an inspired game, not just any random game made to gouge.

Granted, it didn't have just HUGE cites to explore, like you wanted, LK... But it did have some very good places to explore.

I was playing this game earlier today, actually, just to relive some memories :p

    Nah, I didn't like Colosseum.

But I meant a main game like the main hand held series, just on the Wii. Basically, just a main series Pokemon game with decent 3D graphics and no more sprite-based battle scenes.

While it may have been good for you, it might not have been good to a somewhat-majority of the public. Maybe because it did drift away from the original formula of Pokemon plot / game play, who knows.

We know for sure though, that it has not been successful with consumers and the market in comparison to the portable games.

I never played the GCN Pokemon games, because from what I heard, the general consensus was pretty bad.
