First off, I'm highly aware that this my first post. However to let people to get to know me better, I feel that I need to share what I've been working over for the past year. A webcomic that personally has taken a new life on it's own. While I'll admit the first 7-8 pages were horrid, the comic itself has improved over the various learning I do. ![]() So what is Wibble? It's a story that takes the role of Blue the Mage, and Zack the Ninja Raccoon as they travel through the diverse kingdoms of the lands. As they travel, these two eventually pair up with some of the familiar heroes (Mario, Link, Kirby) of the land to fight a fiendish group of villains. The story is still in the works, and is barely finished with the first chapter. The comic updates at least once a week, and is always improving on the work. To save bandwidth, I've linked to the pictures rather than posting each image in. I've left some comics here to show previews of my work. The Prologue was a hodgepodge of techniques I began to learn how to make a comic. I'm highly aware they are not as good as I would like them to be. However, these pages do introduce the story. Latest Page Page 2-4 ========================================== The Archive of Wibble The Prologue Chapter 1: The Zombie Kingdom Chapter 2: Malicious Monopoly

I've finished page 1-24. I normally finish a page on Friday nights. I'm glad you enjoy it MFreak. I know my first pages aren't that bad, but looking back. I can't help but cringe at them. The jokes however still bring a smile. So they are not failures, but not my favorites either. Edited by BlueLink, Dec 4 2009, 09:46 PM.

@Yacht: So do I, my friend. Funny thing is, not too many people got that joke. Glad to see someone finally enjoy it. @MFreak: Thanks, took me forever to get him looking decent. At least now he looks like Bowser. From now on, I've stuck the latest page in the Original Post as a spoiler. So you don't have to check the latest post. Here's page 1-25 for everyone to enjoy. |

I'm sorry, but a crossover? I've seen so many of those that at this point they annoy me. They're not original, and even then, they weren't in the first place. It's really just manchilds fufilling their dreams of seeing, say, Link and Mario together. With some random people representing you added in the mix, that don't even help the thing look a tad original. Also, why label attacks used? I mean, it seems like something a 5 year old would do. Sorry, i'm just giving out my opinion. Don't let it get to you; if ONE person doesn't like your stuff, it shouldn't bug you. |

He wasn't being an ass, he was being a critic. Even though those are arguably the same thing. His criticism will more likely help than us just telling him how good it is. When someone tells you something is wrong with it you fix it. |

Normally I would wait for the next page to get done before replying. However, it seems that someone wants to critic my comics. I'm highly aware of the numerous crossover comics done. It's almost sicking how many I've read, but you seem to overlook a point. Most of these crossover comics are short lived and done with sprites. Not saying there is anything wrong with spriting, it's just that I am aware of these comics. Now it's completely understandable that you would find my comic unoriginal because I use trademarked characters. I knew that it would degrade the reputation and even repel some potential readers for the comic. However, it gives something for people to relate to the story. While it may not be fair to use such characters, it does target an audience in which they may enjoy. A type a familiarity in which the reader can allude to. Now here's your problem, you feel as if I inserted myself into this world and try to make a godmod character who ends up saving the world. Well that idea is not far from the truth. However, if you think I stuck the main character as myself, I assure you that you are wrong. Each of the characters contain a unique personally that I've given each of them, each containing their own strengths and weaknesses (Blue may have powerful magic, but he seems to burn it too quickly. Zack having Ninja Skills but easily distracted by other things, Mario secretly hates everyone). On top of that, the villains themselves are also manifested versions of these characteristics that I have. Making this comic a fight with myself rather than a quest for power. For the labeling of attack, it was a style I tried using similar to one of my favorite anime shows. To pay homage to it, and even give it potential humor in latter use. Childish it may be, but since when does imagination have a limit based on age? I like a bit of criticism every now and then, but you seem to lack the evidence to support your opinion. As if your attacking all crossovers and stereotyping my comic with the rest of them. If you don't like this kind of style, then there is no need to read it. For everyone else, this is something they can look forward to the end of the week. I enjoy making comics, and no opinion is ever going to change that. |

Well as I said, it's my opinion. No need to agree with it, stop your comic because of it, try and start a flame war with me, or anything like that; I just felt like saying what I felt. And i'm not reading it. I just read the latest and like the first 3, and then went off to post. I guess there's my explanation for not backing up my criticisms properly. What can I say, i'm lazy. And I realise I was being an ass. I'm sorry, but I just hate crossovers. And no need to try to defend my post, zane; it really isn't criticism when you look at it hard enough. Thanks for trying, though. Edited by A_Bored_Game_Dev, Dec 17 2009, 07:56 AM.

Nice save ![]() But honestly, I'd just like to say that I am blown away by how well both of the last comments were handled. I was under the impression that a flame war was going to break out and (other than Jayjababa) one didn't. Anyway, I look forward to the next comic. |

In all honesty I wasn't trying to do a flame war, just trying to defend my point of view. In the end, Game_Dev doesn't like my comic, and I'm still making it. |
