what is your favourite game. mine is banjo-kazooie. it was my first and it was more challenging than Super Mario 64. and the story, music and gameplay was good. thera aren't that many platforming games these days. I wish microsoft didn't own Rare |

I'm assuming you mean "favorite", and not "best", since the best game ever is different from my personal favorite game ever. So, without anymore babbling: I posted it here on Giant Bomb first. 10: Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (X360) Ah, 2008. Fallout 3, MGS4, GTA IV, Braid. But the game that I personally loved most out of them all, was Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. It had the core Banjo Kazooie formula, but in a differently unique way. Building odd contraptions to complete different obstacles had me hooked for hours on end. The amazing visuals, the cheery and memorable soundtrack, and just about every other aspect of Nuts and Bolts just warms me up every time I think of it. Such a fantastic game that no one bought, and the critics didn't care for (except Brad of course). Such a damn shame. 9: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2, Xbox) San Andreas had me hooked for months. At the time of its release, I didn't have money to spend left and right, so I had to play one game for months, before I got another game. San Andreas is such a massive game; three distinctively different looking cities, one giant desert, a huge country/hick area, and much, MUCH more. Though the visuals definitely took a hit, I look back at my time playing through San Andreas and remembered how much damn fun the game was. It was at least 40-50 hours to complete JUST the main quest, which is unreal in today's standards. 8: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN) Though I definitely think Ocarina of Time is the better overall Zelda game, the Wind Waker has a different place in my heart because of the dedication Nintendo put into the game. The Wind Waker is the prettiest game on the Gamecube, no doubt in my mind. It's like someone went into the future, pull the graphics from 2010, then brought it back to 2003. The Wind Waker also had a lot of uniqueness that other Zelda games lacked. Sailing through the ocean was tons of fun, the dungeons were varied, but the core gameplay remained the same. 'Nuff said. 7: Super Mario World (SNES) Oh, Super Mario World, how I loved you so. I played this game at my buddy's house when I was a kid all the time, switching back and forth between every completed level, or death. Super Mario Bros. 3 is known so well for being the game with the overworld, and the awesome power-ups, but Super Mario World bested it in every way. Better power-ups, bigger overworld, prettier graphics, amazingly memorable soundtrack. Super Mario World had it all. 6: GoldenEye 007 (N64) GoldenEye 007, need I say more? Me and my friends used to play this game on four-player all the time! Sometimes we'd play it for hours at a time, trying to beat our opponents with assault rifles, and proximity mines. I also loved going through the campaign with cheats on like DK and paintball mode just for fun. I even went through and beat every mission on Secret Agent, just so I could play the bonus missions at the end. 5: Pokemon Gold/Silver (GBC) I came down with a bad flu when I was in public school, and I just started to play Pokemon Gold after I got it for my Birthday. My god, I spent hours upon hours playing this game in bed, with the light off, and my worm light on. I literally played this game for 10 hours straight one day because I couldn't even get out of bed. I was hooked, and I can even go back today and play more of it. Gold and Silver are easily the best Pokemon games, and they're also my favorite of the series as well. 4: Resident Evil 2 (PS1) Resident Evil 2 literally gave me nightmares when I was a child. The eery atmosphere, the blood and guts, and the scary music all came together as easily one of the spookiest games ever made. I love Resident Evil 2 so much because of its major improvements over the first Resident Evil, as well as having more varied environments that ultimately looked much better. I played this games with friends all the time back in the day, and I remember how much fun it was all the time. 3: Warcraft 2: The Tides of Darkness (PC) I'm not a big PC gamer, but when my family first got our PC way back, one of my mom's friends gave us a bunch of games to play, and Warcraft II was one of them. I started playing the game, and I was absolutely bewildered on how fun the game was. I went for days without playing with friends just so I could play more Warcraft II. I even go back to my shitty old PC once in a while to play it. It was (and still is), a lot of fun to play. Yesh me lord! 2: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2) Metal Gear Solid 3's story is one of the best I've ever watched/played. I almost drew a tear at the end of the game, that's how much I was engaged with the story. It also helped that it was Metal Gear Solid game, meaning it was very fun. It (easily) has the best boss crew of any Metal Gear game, you had to use camouflage to your advantage, and the environments just screamed realism. 1: Paper Mario (N64) I can't really believe just how much I loved Paper Mario. The RPG elements were very dumbed-down, the story was pretty generic, and the visuals were muddy. But I doesn't change the fact that I had the most fun with this game than any other game I've ever played. I've beaten it at least 10 times, with none of them feeling repetitive or boring. I could literally sit down and play the game again, and not feel anything other than amazement. |

BioShock. As if you all didn't know that already.  The environment alone is enough to make me return to Rapture over and over. I've spent maybe half of my playtime just exploring Rapture, looking at everything from advertisements to splicers muttering to themselves about Jesus. The story is also great. Sure it includes ideas that have been done before, that doesn't make the story any worse. I'll always be fascinated by a failed utopia. I have to admit though, what really made this game for me is the characters. Each of the characters has a distinct personality to them, even the ones only heard in the Audio Logs. In fact, Spoiler: click to toggle is one of my favorites and he never appears in the game aside from his audio log pic and Spoiler: click to toggle . Where else can you find a plastic surgeon influenced by Picasso or a crazed aritist like Sander Cohen. Yeah, the game has some flaws, but that's nothing compared to everything I love about this game.End rant. Edit: I just realized that this is in Other Nintendo. Well, BioShock, obviously. BioShock was an awesome game. Plasmids are awesome, the characters are awesome, Sander Cohen is awesome, what more could you ask for? Yeah, I know once you've killed someone, for some reason, their body falls to the floor in slow motion and glitches but apart from that, it's great. I'm sure I haven't even done that much of Fallout 3 but so far it is fantastic. The weapons that you can get are sooo cool. Fat Man is awesome  And the fact that you can choose to do whatever the hell you want makes the game really cool too.Resi 4 wii edition is by far one of my favourite game of all time. It's not very colourful but it still looks good. It's much better than the one for gamecube. Again the different types of things that you have to kill are cool. Lol, I have completed this game three times. Zelda TP is another one on my list. Not much I can say apart from the fact that it is a great game. CoD5 is great. Online, Nazi Zombies, and the campaign isn't that bad. The different map packs are cool too. And not too pricey. Most of friends have this so when we're playing this online we have a laugh. Those are some of my favourite games of all time. |

I'm with you on that one. I really disliked the series because I just assumed there were all similar to VII. But I plyed IV and I'm currently playing VI and I fell in love. I did my research, and IX is next on my list. But my favorite game of all time is Earthbound. One of the few games to have a certain sentimentality to it. Edited by Firebro24, Nov 5 2009, 07:33 PM.

I've never finished it, but Giants: Citizen Kabuto holds a very, very special place in my heart. The humor covered every flaw that game had. If any of you have a PS2, there's a PS2 version probably up on ebay, I'd pick that shit up. 10 fucking bux Edited by rustyscrew', Nov 5 2009, 08:00 PM.

Despite the horribly bastardized way people have played it, I'd have to say it would be... 1) Diablo II I played this sooo much in grade 7-8. I felt like I was neglecting school. 2) Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Nostalgics would hate me for this... 3) Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare |

For the third time in this topic Bioshock I just love how the game plays, the environments, weapons, Big Daddies, and so on and so on. Although Bioshock 2 might replace it next year. |

My favourite game? Maybe Pokémon Pearl, since it allows you to catch so many different Pokémon, and can upload any from the GBA games. It also has really good graphics! 5. Marvel Ultimate Alliance (360) I am a huge Marvel fan, and this game was completely amazing. First off it was free. Who can't like a free game? Second, its got an amazing story line. And third, Captain America..enough said. 4. Tetris DS (Nintendo DS) I never really played tetris when I was younger, but around 8th grade I broke my leg..and it was summer. So I was pretty bored, until I got Tetris DS. I played it nonstop, and got pretty good at it. Tetris is a classic. 3. Fable:TLC Probably the greatest game ever made. TLC is obviously better than the second fable, but yeah... 2.Final Fantasy:Crisis Core (PSP) An amazing game with an amazing story line. This game proves that Cloud is a pansy, and that Zack is the ultimate FF character ever. I'm not going to lie, I cried at the end of this game. 1. Fire Emblem Series (Nintendo) Overall, I think FF7 is my favorite, but Fire Emblem is my all time favorite series of games. Amazing story lines, awesome gameplay, etc. |
