It was confirmed in the sept/Oct? (IDK which) issue of Nintendo Power that CoD: MW will be released in Nov. for both Wii and DS. While no specific details were in the article except possible 6 player Wi-Fi matches, they did say that more news about the game will be in the next issue due out late Sept/ early Oct.

    Don't you agree, Zach?

I wonder how well it will sell. I figure most of the people who want it already have it on the 360 and would probably prefer it on there. I guess it's good for those that don't have a 360 though.

Foremost is the chromatic substance accomplishment to Picklegod! Pickle contributes to all parts of the forum, stays astir, and mostly is awful to everyone he meets. A wonderful, intelligent somebody, Pickle testament now better us with every day NF decisions. Approval Picklgod!

I thought this was announced a while ago. I've known for a while that the Wii was getting the first Modern Warfare, and the DS already has it.

    The FIRST Modern Warfare?

As amazing as that game is, come on Nintendo, keep up. It's been out for ages for fuck sake, and the new one is out very soonish on PS3 and 360. Bit of a joke really.

6 players multi as well, so basically team tactical is the best you're gonna get? Really lame.

It will also get great reviews as well, since it'll be good "for the Wii".

    Fucking ridiculous.

Last I checked, Treyarch wasn't Nintendo. Other than allotting the necessary development resources (which Treyarch would already have), Nintendo isn't the one making or developing the game. You can't blame a company for something it has nothing to do with. It's like complaining because your local retailer was just allowed to carry a certain imported good. Not their fault.

    ?

That makes no sense. If a game is "good for the Wii", then it's a good game. Like wise, if a game is "good for the PS3" the game is good. It's the same game; it's just a port. A downgrade in several areas, but not in game play, so how could it be anything else? Whether you choose to believe it or not, Wii has the same standards as any other console on the market, because it's just that - a standard.

No, it makes total sense. Games like the Conduit got some good reviews here and there (like Matt Casamassina's laughable 8.6/10), but only because there's nothing else like it on the Wii. If the Conduit (even with better visuals) was on the Xbox 360 or PS3, it would be considered a 'bad' game, because really, if it weren't for the controls, it would be. Say there was a console with every game was a piece of garbage, would a half-decent game then be called "amazing" because there isn't anything else on the console? No, because that would be ridiculous, especially if there was better versions of that particular game on other consoles.

Call of Duty 4 on the Wii will likely be an alright game, but it wont be amazing like the 360, PS3, and PC version. But because it's decent for a Wii game, it will be positively reviewed, which again, is ridiculous.

Also, watch this video review from Jeff Gerstmann on Giant Bomb dot com: http://www.giantbomb.com/the-conduit/61-21121/reviews/ What he says at the very beginning of the video is perfectly true. It's just ridiculous.

Nintendo shouldn't be waiting around for developers to release their blockbuster games on their system in the first place. If they were really that fussed about getting it on their console, I'm sure they could have figured something out. It just stinks of Nintendo again completely disregarding a game because the best part of it is the online. And it's pretty well documented that, for whatever reason, they hate online gaming.

I cannot see the point of them porting it for the single player alone unless they add in a crapload more extra missions or at least a couple more missions like Mile High Club. Because although it's very good, it's quite short and not particularly challenging, also with online being 3v3 maximum it seems a bit pointless. However, it's bound to shift copies, so I can see why they're putting it up for sale to make them money, but they should at least combine MW and MW2 single player missions to make it worth it.

And just FYI Infinity Ward make the Modern Warfare games :P Treyarch made World At War.

What? A game is good is because of such and such and such and such, (fill in whatever you tend to fancy, whether it be superior game play, customization, etc) It should use every ounce of power the console has. Other than that, the console it is on does not matter. Using "for the Wii" is an excuse for under development. You don't need realistic visuals for a great game. Saying so is just fucking retarded.

If The Conduit were made for a different console with the same graphics but with the same control, it's polygon visuals would be called "poor" because the system can do more. Nothing else. It would be praised for it's control scheme and customization, like the Wii title. It's all about using what the console has to your advantage.

And no, that's not what anyone is saying. But, if there were a game on such a console that was amazing, everyone with your similar viewing style would say "it's good. For a x Console game.", and that's truly laughable.

I don't bother reading reviews from main stream. It's pointless for me.

.....? So, Nintendo should force someone onto their console? That's not how it works. If Nintendo wanted the game, but the developer didn't want to develop it, there's little they could do other than pay them. And, for CoD4, it was the developers choice to not put it on the Wii when it was first released, not Nintendo's. They didn't go "Wtf, Online play? FUCK THAT. Get that shit out off of my system."

Just for FYI - Treyarch's doing the Wii conversion, not Infinity Ward.

But, I digress. Stating a game is "good for _____" is more or less nonsense. A good game is a good game. There are some Atari games that blow 360 games out of the water. I can understand if the console has a reputation for unrealistic visuals (such as the Wii), but blaming the company or complaining about any detail that's due to poor development or lack of resources as fault is just plain ignorant.

Well, this is cool. A step a head for Nintendo. That should have happened 2 years ago. And if what you say is true and it's only 6 player multiplayer, Sonty is right, 3v3 is pretty small and will make most of the maps look really big. Unless they tone down the maps or make new ones, some maps might feel a bit to big for 3 people. Like overgrown or pipeline.

Yeah, they should've, they would've made their money back. Modern Warfare is one of the best games of this generation, why should they miss out on it for 2 whole years and release it when it's sequel is coming out on other consoles? For me it just shows exactly how far Nintendo are behind games library wise (Wii only, not counting the online store).

And my bad about the developer, if you're right then it'll be worse. Treyarch made a cock up with World at War as far as I'm concerned. The campaign was fun, but the online was far too easy because of the environments. I always found the characters to be kind of clunky when you moved about. Not that that's anything to do with this though, just saying.

I tried to search the net for more info about it, but everything I find are other forum posts stating that it isn't coming to Wii with the date for the thread started like 3+ months ago. I should find that issue of NP, copy the page and post it on here.

Getting a game developer to develop something they don't want will, in my assumption, cost millions of dollars. Why would they pay that much money? They've had their own hints.

And, just to state it, as Capcom knows all to well - Companies LOVE making money. It's what they do. If Infinity Ward/ Treyarch can wait 2 years and then re release a game that has already sold thousands of copies and then port it over to the most popular console in todays market, why wouldn't they? It's all about Money, ask Capcom. How many times has RE4 been released? How many times has the same story known as RE1 been told?

Eh, to each his own. I remember reading on IGN a while ago when the game was first announced that the game would feature 10 multiplayer online with no wii speak.

I would imagine like you said, porting one of the most popular games of this generation to the moest popular console in today's market, would make a tonne of money, so yeah, paying them to develop it WOULD have been worth their while, as they would have more than likely made all of their money back. They have less chance of doing it now than they would have 2 years ago (although now they dont have to pay, or I assume they're not) because people have already played it, and if the online isn't going to be as good as Live, PSN or PC, then they have no reason to buy it.

It'll still sell by the shedload though.
