...that there hasn't been more timeline discussion on this forum. Going back 6 or so pages I saw... 2 topics, and they didn't last very long.

I can probably guess at why there hasn't been more theorizing and debating about the whole mess, but I'll ask anyway: why hasn't there been more timeline discussion?

    Don't you agree, Zach?

My personal reasons are that I haven't played all of them and that I don't particularly care that much. I do have a simplistic timeline set up in my head though.

Foremost is the chromatic substance accomplishment to Picklegod! Pickle contributes to all parts of the forum, stays astir, and mostly is awful to everyone he meets. A wonderful, intelligent somebody, Pickle testament now better us with every day NF decisions. Approval Picklgod!

I've no one to argue with over the matter, so I didn't really see a point.

If you wish, start one up and we can go at it. :)

I dislike the whole topic about a Zelda "timeline". Even if the games did take place in the same universe at different times, who cares? I like just playing the games.

A couple of years ago I would've gladly taken you up on that, but now I don't think I'd do a good job. I haven't really participated in a timeline debate since 2005. I just don't care enough about it anymore.

If there was a consistent LoZ timeline, it is pretty messed up.

The only thing I know for sure is that Majoria's Mask was the sequel to Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker's two sequels are Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

I do believe that the only certain timeline that is set in stone is that Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks are the latest 3 in the timeline. It has already been stated that all other Zelda games fall before it. (Which would make sense, as Wind Waker starts out with a flooded Hyrule.) I'm pretty sure IGN did an entire timeline special for Zelda, splitting the universe up at Majora's Mask for uncertainty.

The same reason people care about the history of any game; be it Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot, Zelda or Digimon; they want to know more about the universe the characters live in. I love the Zelda series; I want to know as much as possible about each game and such. I don't just want to play it; I want to know it.

There's no way Spirit Tracks can can be a sequel to WW. There's too much land. If it's directly related to WW at all, it's more likely to be a distant prequel.

Link's Awakening is a sequel to A Link to the Past. Adventures of Link is likely a sequel to the original LoZ.

Wait. I just realized what I did there. Maybe I will try and have that timeline discussion with you, IceCatraz. It's just... I haven't played either of the Oracle games, AoL, or MM, or the Four Swords games. =/

Those are interesting opinions. However, there is still the possiblity that it is a sequel to Phaton Hourglass. While I agree that there is alot of land, especially considering the fact that Wind Waker and PH had the entire world flooded, it is possible that there is some kind of development of land. Nintendo's done odder.

Ah. Well, while I do suggest playing them (Majora's Mask and Oracle of Seasons are simply amazing. ), they aren't exactly required playing to argue a timeline. You'll just need to do a large amount of reading and researching into the games.

Well, at least MM will soon be on the VC here in America... if it isn't already. Lucky Europe, getting it first. I'm gonna have to go to somebody else's house to download, though: my ISP doesn't seem to like consoles. =/

I find it interesting how everyone has automatically assumed that ST just has to be directly related to the other two cel-shaded games. It could ultimately be entirely on its own, featuring a random train conductor that becomes a hero... and just happens to look like the Hero of Winds.

Whenever it does get released..it's already been released everywhere else.

It makes sense, at least at a first look. I doubt it would be anyone different, though, as Nintendo seems to like keeping a steady flow of Hero's in a certain style of game. I doubt they'd release another Hero with the same look as the Hero of Winds with this much stigma surrounding him.
