    Need a de-upgrade

Whats the big deal about upgrading? Just so you can waist 200+ on a new system? Look at the DSi, theres like no differences (major differences in that matter).
I was looking at some of the game threads:
Animal Crossing: one or two AC (for the Gamecube) threads
Zelda: Two WindWaker (other for TP, PH, or just best Zelda game of time etc)
    Smash Bros: ALL BRAWL THREADS.

Upgrading eventually is fine, but always upgrading isn't the best: it can hurt your wallet. And is it really worth it? Look at the Wii! Of every game Ive played on it, not one game I have liked to when I stopped! (Galaxy got old at half way, Mario Kart got really old after a week or two. Ive only played Wii games at friends, but it adds up to a long time for each game, TP I just hated, Metroid Prime 3 I didn't get far enough into. Ive played tons other games, all of which I didn't like at all). Look at the Gamecube: tons of good quality games. N64? Even more quality games! SNES? Pwnage games! NES? Classic!

There are MAJOR differences between the DS/Lite and the DSi. It plays games better

    DS Lite:
Media: Game Boy Advance cartridge, Nintendo DS Game Card
CPU: One 67 MHz ARM946E-S and one 33 MHz ARM7TDMI
Storage capacity: Cartridge save, 4 MB RAM
    Connectivity: Wi-Fi
    Online services:Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
    Screen Size: 3 in

    DSi:
Media: Nintendo DS Game Card, Secure Digital card (SD card), Secure Digital High Capacity card (SDHC card)
    CPU: 2 ARM architecture processors
Storage capacity: Cartridge save, 256 MB internal flash memory, SD/SDHC card (up to 32 GB)
Connectivity: Wi-Fi (with WPA and WPA2 support)
Online services: Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, DSi Shop, Nintendo Zone
    Screen Size: 3.25 in

As you can see, there is more than just a camera and a different case. The DSi is an update in every sense. It's just like Apple releasing different iPods, all with different specs, and they all run concurrently. The DSi isn't meant to replace the DS Lite, though it could more than definitly do it; it's meant to be a compliment to it, as Nintendo has stated several times in the past.

Actually, most of your post, in relation to the Wii and DS, is pretty much moot. The Wii can play N64, SNES, NES, and Gamecube games. They upgraded while still allowing you to play all of those games that you swear by. The Wii is well worth it's money, epsecially for someone with your gaming taste. What's more fiscally prudent? Going and buying each of those systems, the games, the remotes, and the plugs, or going out and buying a machine that can already play all of those games, and has features that make it worth the money on it's own?

Nintendo Upgrades, but never forgets the classics and it's old school fans. That's what VC was made for.

You bring up a good point about the DSi. But it cant do what the DS could do: play GBA. Thats a factor that stands above the rest bad parts of it.
I hate the Wii and Virtual console. Its cool and all...but its not the same. If Miyamota hated the Gamecube (he said it was a downtime >.>), why did he add so much of it into the Wii, yet stop selling Gamecube games?

    Dude, what the fuck.

If you have GBA games, play them in your GBA.

That's like me crying about how I can't shove my NES games into my Wii.

I agree with Ice and Rusty. :Removing one feature isn't going to kill a massive upgrade in every other area.

Same old criticism against me (Im used to it though >.>)
I choose a wrong word. hate was not right. I have heard (I know its true) Miyamota said the era of the Gamecube was slow (meaning he didn't particularly like it).
Now, for the GBA thing. >.>
    (Im already hating this forum)
Im turning this around and throwing it at you. If people have an NES game, they can just go put it in their NES.

Rusty's argument is flawed, because it brings about this counter argument.

If you want to take pictures, use a camera.

Some people like carrying less devices on them.

On a related note I think upgrading for the sake of it is pointless too, I know many a people that sold their original ds for a ds lite, and will probably do the same thing now. The same happened with the psp, even with the new (and in some people's opinion) worse PSP-3000

His argument was based on the fact that the DSi compacts several things into one, surpassing the DS' compression rate by more than 4 times. Knowing that, he realized the DSi's loss of a slot that has appeared on 5 different machines already is more than trivial and is something that shouldn't be missed. As he stated, if you wish to play GBA games, play them on a GBA. If you want a phone that can only text using numbers devoted to numbers, not letters (as many phones now have), go and buy an old school cell phone. If you want to text, don't bother buying and old school phone, buy the new, upgraded one with all of the features. Maybe it doesn't have the huge, bulky size that the old school phones have, or some of the archaic features that it has due to upgrades, but it is still a better piece of machinery with amazing support.

While what you say is techincally true, Dr., it is upmostly trivial. If you want a device soley devoted to taking pictures, buy a camera. If you want a device that can take pictures AND more, get a DSi. So this camera lacks the abilty to flash; is it still not a camera? In this situation, flashing would be considered out of date, unessecary, and overall, a waste of money in the long run.

If you really want to play GBA games on the DSi so bad, you can import an AceKard2. They can hold an impressive amount of GBA games.

That won't work, at least to my knowledge.

I got an AceKard2 on my DS Lite, but I would need the EZ Flash 3 in 1 to boot from slot 2.

    You're right, I missed a letter.

If you want to play GBA games on your DSi, get a AceKard2i DSi Flash Card.

You mean a flash cart? I still have the ds lite because I have an R4. I have the DSi to though. I heard that due to the slot being removed, sometime soon you can buy GBA games from the DSi shop. Its an easy way for them to get money...

I don't think that's confirmed yet, but I agree; selling GBA games on the DSi Market would reap in a great amount of profit.
