Halo Wars![]() Developer: Ensemble Studios Publisher: Ensemble Studios Release Date: March 3, 2009 Genre: Strategy Platform: Xbox 360 Rating: T - Teen Background Info Whether a person likes it or not they know what Halo is. What many people don't know is that halo was originally supposed to be an RTS game and was later made into an fps which made Halo what it is today. The game has been in production for over 2 years and the company which made it is now closed Campaign The campaign for halo wars begins 20 years before the events of the first halo game so there is no master chief or any of the characters you have grown to love and hate. The great news is that you get to control a large amount of Spartans. The campaign starts out on a planet called Harvest. The covenant and UNSC have been fighting over the territory for 5 years and have been going back and forth over the control of it. You play as Captain Forge a man who is a decorated war veteran and who has been promoted and then demoted various times for “crimes” which were all considered honorable. The game goes mostly along with the “canon” of the halo universe but if you are a big halo fan you will find that some parts don’t match or at least they don’t match in the first Halo Wars game. Like all halo games there are different difficulties which are easy, normal, heroic and legendary. The campaign has many interesting missions which go from destroying covenant scarabs to defending your base from waves of flood. The screenshots in the campaign are just amazing. It lets you get the feel for everything that is happening and shows everything very detailed including giant fights between UNSC the Covenant and the Flood. Multiplayer All halo games are mostly known for their multiplayer. Like all the other halo games Halo Wars also has a multiplayer mode. There are 3 types of matches you can play including 1vs1, 2v2 and 3v3. There are only two types of modes. There is regular in which the game starts you with a small amount of resources, one scout unit and 800 resources. Also there is a game mode called deathmatch where both players start out with 15000 resources and a unit limit of 15 which progresses over time. There are only 2 playable factions which are UNSC and Covenant. As far as we know there have been no playable Flood announced yet even thought they might come as downloadable content over xbox live. Rating Campaign: 9/10 Multiplayer: 10/10 Graphics: 8/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Overall: 8.75/10 Edited by Hellhoy, Mar 5 2009, 11:34 PM.
