The Universe is only (estimated) 13.5 billion years old. Earth is 4.6 billion years old. Our planet will die in a few billion more years, and we won't be able to survive as Earth changes. If humans were to care, we would run. ...there is also the chance of a supernova killing us. ...and Planet X... ...or anything else science has to say. We may have gone extinct, though, by the time we get as far into technology as we think. Edited by Xreaper2070, Jan 31 2009, 09:10 PM.

And planets with unsurvivable living conditions would be a better choice? When it's our time, it's our time. There shouldn't be any destiny rewriting. |

I didn't say we have to go to a planet with more hazards, I said we need to find another planet like Earth... is and was. |

Even if we discovered a planet similar to earth, it would take millions of years just to get there. Try again. |

"Almost there..." "Crap, another asteroid!" GAME OVER But if we get better technology, then we could go faster- hoping that the closest Earth-like planet would be less than a light-year away... and that our ships could go around the speed of light. And, if we got further into technology, we could develop shields. If we went at the speed of light, we would get destroyed by the smallest partical of dust. |

It was a nice debate though. I mean, there's no way our bodies will be able to handle light speed. Nor can you develop a ship that will be able to handle that kind of velocity.

I'm sorry, the hover car lot hasn't opened yet? What are you talking about? Also, Reaper, Mars is not younger than our planet. |

I don't like to keep this discussion going but... ...I never said that Mars is younger, I said we need to move someday. |

I heard that astronauts are going to build a space station on Mars by the year 2025. But they should really take their time because we dont wanna see another rocket blast in our atmosphere..(again..) |
