Does anyone think that the human race will inhabit Mars by the estimated year; 2020-2030 (or around that period)?
Just a topic of opinions on how smart you think humans are, practically.

I think we may- after all, we already have the new space suit prototypes planned out and made.

I don't think so at all. What's the point?

Do you know how far it is away? INHABIT?! We've barely even begun space travel! There's no way in hell we could inhabit Mars in the next 20 years. We're still perfecting even going up into space without things going wrong.

No need to explode like a launch failure.

    Hello little fella!
I thought this was about some shit unit we did in ICT in year 9(U.K) but I don't think it will be that soon but maybe in the next century.

I wouldn't bet on it but I think they should reach Mars at around 2070 to 2080, when we're all OAPs.

Sorry- I worded it a little wrong... how about "when do you think we will have a successful human mission to Mars?

Not during that time period. That's for sure.

I don't know, if we keep at this rate, we could probably have a successful mission around 2030.
...and, once we get that far, we'll be able to get farther faster and probably have found a way to build a "bubble".
...but things don't always go the way you plan.

There's no doubt in my mind that a manned mission to Mars is completely doable, but it'd be very high risk, very high cost and I fail to see in what ways the research conducted would be superior to that already done using unmanned probes.

Yes, we would be likely to lose MANY men... (and women, you know what I mean)

Probes are hard to control and we still have trouble getting them to dig.
...but I guess if we would advance to sending humans to other planets, we could advance our probes, right? ...it's man vs. machine.

    Lol, I don't think so.

They won't go until they're sure that they can.

They'd probably give up around the 3rd ship in a row that exploded too.

I think there's a one in a million chance that we'll start inhabiting mars. I know that we have definitely got to land on it within that time. we can do it now. But it's too risky and costly. Maybe around 2050 we'll start the process of inhabiting mars.

I never said that they'd go many ships in- and sometimes the government makes dumb decisions, too.
...I also never said they would go before they were certain- or almost certain.
