I read, primarily fiction. I enjoy books.. When I was younger I read all 23 of the Redwall series. If you google it, you'll think I'm like gay or something, but some are good reads, especially the newest. Lord of the Rings are a good series. I feel Harry Potter is incredibly overrated. Sword of Shannara is a good book. Inkheart and Inkspell are great. Guardians of Ga'hoole are awesome, made me love owls. I read Deltora Quest in the 4th grade, good books for that age. Eragon and Eldest were good. I read the Pendragons, haven't read the 9th yet though. Calvin and Hobbes is a funny comic, along with Foxtrot, along with Pearls before Swine... Ill edit this later if I remember other books i forgot... I don't really read magazines... EDIT: I am currently reading "The Da Vinci Code" It's a great mystery novel. |

Seeing as we all have to read and comprehend the posts that we are replying to, I think we all read here. Books, however, I do read a lot of. I've read the Eragon series, Deltora Quest, LOTR, Inkheart series, and I think that's about it from your list. I read a lot of fantasy stuff, but I'd like to read about WWII over the summer. I'm going to borrow Band of Brothers from my uncle, and see what else I can dig up at my library. I've found that I like war novels. I read Fallen Angels two summers ago, which is about the Vietnam war, and it was very good. |

I rarely read books. I'm afraid I just don't have the time or patience. However, I would recommend Brave New World by Aldous Huxley to anyone. Now there's a fantastic book. I know many people will disagree with me, but I think it beats the shit out of Nineteen Eighty-Four. |

I'm pretty sure Brave New World is an Iron Maiden album. In fact, the album cover is my computer's background. Whats the book about? |

It's a dystopic novel. The basic premise is that the world has come under the control of a World State that uses recreational drugs, sex and brainwashing as methods of controlling the global population. It's a total acid trip; you should really try it out. |

Seems somewhat related to 1984. 'Cept not that specific in terms of brainwashing. Farenheit(forgive my spelling) 451 was a pretty nice one in that genre, too. |

Hmm I might read it. As for what I'm reading now, The Da Vinci Code is a very cool mystery book thing. I was reading it in a Catholic school and some of the teachers were like "Ahhhh paganism" but some really didnt care. Some encouraged me to read it. It's a good read! |

Fahrenheit 451 wasn't bad. It took quite a while for the action to pick up. I wasn't a huge fan of Parts 1 and 2, but I really enjoyed Part 3 of the book. I read it in English this year, and people kept talking about how bad it was (mainly because I'm in a class of retards), but I actually somewhat enjoyed it. I just might pick up that book, Katz. |

Yeah, I got the same lip too. Similar class as well. I enjoy reading political satires, in fact those are the only books I like to read. I even enjoyed Animal Farm. You've no idea how many people in my grade absolutely hated that book, but I loved it(mainly for it's second level, first allegory I had read). |

Yes, comparisons are frequently drawn between 1984 and BNW. BNW is the older of the two and like I said earlier, I think it's better. I found 1984 awfully dry and the influence of Stalinism on Orwell's writing is so obvious. BNW, on the other hand, is much more intriguing. |

I never read that book, but my brother has. I might read it in the near future. I also enjoyed Huck Finn, but that was more of a social satire, and not so much a political one. Satires are fun to read, I guess. |

Yeah, I gotta read Huck Finn for next year, actually. I'm supposing it's sort of like To Kill a Mockingbird, then. Political ones come off as more interesting to me, it was hard for me to see the second level of TKaM, because the described town was too similar to how my life has been, and I ended up reading it like a story - not thinking there was more to it. |

I heard Animal Farm was good...I may read it sometime I heard Huck Finn is a good book for life lessons and Huck pretty much only makes fun of African Americans and says the n-word, but we should recognize it was just used back then Racism sucks. |

Just because you like drugs D: I've read 1984, not Brave New World though, so I need to get on that....whenever I get enough free time. I suppose I'd suggest, The Picture of Dorian Gray, if only for all the Oscar Wilde quotes. I haven't really read much since getting out of taking English courses Harry Potter was way, way more enjoyable for me to read than the Lord of The Rings series, omg they were boring. (The Hobbit, however is one of my favorite books, funny how they went to shit for me after that) |
