Since there seems to be lacking a real tactics-thread in this subforum (most of them are discussed in other topics), here's a thread to discuss the deeper points of Brawl. To start, what do you guys think about Zero Suit Samus? Blaster attack at full charge is a great combo starter, but too short of a range. Whip has insane long range, useful in B moves. Smash attacks seems are great; I mean, down smash has a stun, which can be followed by another attack, and her whip attacks have great range.Problem is, her recovery sucks (tether recovery and her down+b, if you count that as a recovery) Although you can't "wave-shine" in Brawl anymore, I still use Falco/Fox's reflector as an offensive tool...with Fox, I just down+b, run and follow, then down+b. Almost like a wave shine...except your not wavedashing. More like..shine running? Whatever. I personally like Falco's reflector the best, it can disrupt most attacks. Wolf's reflector is larger, but is waaaaaaay weaker than both of them (2-3% at times). Seems like Snake is gonna be a top tier, his tilts are just ridiculous, and there's his dash attack, which does a pretty reasonable amount of damage. Discuss. |

Zero Suit Spamus can spam downsmash to do an infinite. Also a variation of waveshine is still in Brawl: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uNawxTzTWVY |

actually, only 2-3 times for her down blaster im not bad with zero suit samus and i like using her b-up kind of like a meteor smash her whip could be stronger, but her b-across is great she also has great air attacks Marth has amazing combo-moves, same with meta knight Snake is amazing if you know how to use him right, and there is a special tactic/glitch/technique with him Pit is also majorly spammable |

So shines still has some use afterall. Also, there seems to be many infinites in the game sans chaingrabs. The ones that I know is ZSS's down smash (which breaks gameplay IMO) are Falco's laser lock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwaa_Lt9sqQ Ice Climber's Icicle Lock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nvR9x8tm-I Snake's knee lock http://super-smash-bros.wikia.com/wiki/Knee_Lock Speaking of Snake, I'm trying to do this tech. called Snakedashing: http://super-smash-bros.wikia.com/wiki/Snakedashing btw, up-smash for Snake is awesome, great for interceptions. When I'm edgeguarding, I usually smash 2-3 mortars up, in decreasing height. Sucks though that only height is boosted when being charged, not damage. And I love the C4s, they sometimes catch people completely off guard, along with the mines. You can camp yourself in the edge of the screen if you set up a "minefield" of C4s and mines, forcing your opponent to approach cautiously while your spamming Grenades. |

Grah. I'm having problems with KOing people. I get high percentages, I can't really KO them for some reason. Also, got another problem with Fox's down spike...when I try to spike someone when they're trying to recover, I usually drill down along with them, causing both of us to lose stock. Is there a way to reduce fall speed? Should I just tap down+a once so I won't fast fall? |

I believe double posting is when you post two posts within the same time frame. For example, posting something, then posting another 20 seconds later. My post was 4 days off, since no one is replying to it, so I "bumped" it. Same applies to the "Listening to" thread. What if you listened to two songs, and no one posted within that time frame? You can't "edit" what you just listened to. Since that's past. Etc. etc. this is all nonsense. etc. etc. off topic. Also, on topic, orly now. Did you know that when you move the control stick, your characters walks to that direction? It's such an unknown fact! I mean by IN DEPTH means something that is not commonly used and not "normal" discussion.
Meh...don't believe in tiers? It's gonna get there, someway or another. Word on the street is that Metaknight is gonna be high-tier, since his offensive options are ungodly, and an amazing recovery, to boot. And Olimar's gonna be up there, since Pikmin are pwnage in terms of attack power. Maybe tether recovery gonna put it a couple places lower, though. Snake's down smash is the mine...and you really can't "Get hit" with it until you run over it. Which makes for some great combo options. I played a guy online once before, and I was Snake, and I fully charged a mortar in one side of the screen. The guy came after me, and I launched him in the air. Either by freak accident or other, the mortar that I sent up HIT him as he was in the air. Mines (C4 and his down+smash)=always set them up when the other guy is waiting to respawn. They're usefulness at times can be great, and it should be second habit, much like charging Samus's laser, or Sheik's needle storm. |

Fox's dair wasn't intended to be a spike... it's mainly meant for comboing. A good combo for fox is SH dair -> utilt x2 -> SH dair -> utilt -> SH dair -> usmash. Of course, throwing in a JC shine at the end before the usmash is good too, but it's a bit hard to do. |

If I can only SH really well, I can do good comboes. Does the shine has the same "spiking" abilities as in Melee? |
