A Metroid game in 3D third person? Kinda like Zelda games??? I think it would be cool.

That might make a pretty cool game, but I love the concept of the Metroid Prime games. They are so awesome and fun with all the features that can be done in first-person mode, but since they've finished a trilogy of those games, third-person mode might be a good turn for more 3d games in the series.

Nah. Part of what makes Metroid what it is is the First-Person point of view. It's much more immersive, and making a third person game, with the precision required in Metroid, will make shooting very difficult. And besides, when you use the Morph Ball, you go into a Third-Person view.

A 3rd person 3D adventure would work ok if they had the liked of Z-targeting.. but would be easy as you would never miss!!

the 1st person is working great though, so there no need to change it yet!

Idea: maybe you can toggle optionally out of 1st and third view as you pleased?

Knowing Nintendo, I know they could pull it off very easily. They could do it themselves with the help of a team they smartly choose to help out.

A third person adventure would be cool in the sense that they could make it very much like the 2D games, with 3D environments to explore. Third person would allow some of Samus's items to be utilized greatly, particularly the items that had to have their abilities and/or purposes modified in the Prime subseries so it would work well with the first person gameplay. Highlights include the Speed Booster (not the Boost Ball), the Space Jump (when I say that, I mean the Space Jump that allows Samus to jump indefinitely, not the Primes' iteration of the item that only allows Samus to jump twice), the Screw Attack (it would be an add-on to the Space Jump, technically just making Samus deadly when she somersaults), and famous mechanics like wall-jumping (WITHOUT the Screw Attack needed, unlike in the Prime games).

Samus could also aim her arm cannon by using the Wiimote, and all that stuff.

In other words, a third person 3D adventure for Metroid would likely be a huge breakthrough in modern gameplay. Not that it would matter, because hardly anyone outside the Metroid fanbase has played any 2D Metroid game, only the Prime subseries (mostly, though, the disgustingly overrated Prime 3). This means that most people would think that Metroid should go back to its 3D Prime roots. WTF? Metroid's roots belong to 2D adventures! A third person 3D adventure could very easily imitate the gameplay experience Metroid was supposed to bring us in the first place, not the aging first person shooter gameplay everyone outside the Metroid fanbase expects.

Other M looks interesting with the somewhat incorporated third person gameplay, but it's not exactly what I'm picturing in my mind.
