I loved Donkey Kong 64! It would be awesome if another 3D Donkey Kong was released. Even another Donkey Kong Country would be fine. But I don't if know they would be as good without Rare. Edited by DOODLEboy99, Dec 19 2008, 03:04 PM.

Yes. Actually, I'd buy anything from Nintendo that doesn't a) have Wii in the title, b) isn't a sports game and c) isn't targeted to pussies who can't finish games.

Doesn't Rare own most of the DK properties, though? Like characters and settings? |

I wouldn't even mind them just putting it on the virtual console, but they need to get it on the Wii some how it would be a major hit.. that was like the 3rd game i ever played in my life and i loved it.. |

Nintendo should definately bring a game like that to the wii. I recently pulled out my N64 and I've fallen in love with DK64 all over again. Even if it's not a sequel, I'd love to see a similar style game on the wii. |

In my opinon, it was the best Rare platformer for the SNES (Conker was good, but multiplayer blew the storyline out of the water), and I'm not too far in Banjo Kazooie, but I'm finding it to be boring. So, instead of a sequel, a port to the VC or DS would be better, so players unfamiliar with the game can get to know the characters and the story, not just use the characters in shit raceing games. |

i have no doubt that they could make a good game, but it just wouldn't be the same without rare. Rare being owned by microsoft was the WORST THING EVER!!! they just don't belong together.

Personally, Donkey Kong 64 is my favorite game of all time. I loved it, I still love it, and I would love a sequel. However, I doubt it will happen anytime soon for a number of reasons: 1) Nintendo is targeting a different audience than before...the casual audience. This means more party games and less "epics." 2) Donkey Kong has gone down in popularity. DKC3, sadly, got bad reaction from a number of people, and DK64 was simply under-rated, and is often not mentioned in the list of great N64 Platformers, spots often given to Banjo-Kazzoie, even though the gameplay was quite similar. 3) After Nintendo sold their share of RareWare, they lost partial rights to DK64. What part did they lose? The mini-game Jetpac, and the RareWare coin. This means legal disputes out the wazzoo. Sadly, I think the most we can expect out of Nintendo is a Virtual Console port, if that even. Hopefully, we will get something more... ~ Obilink |
