    Thanks to vista XP.

I switched back to vista recently because I heard the gaming issues were fixed, but yeah once again it was a mistake so back to xp I went.

So normally with AOL xp I have around 300kbps download speed average.
    Now it's 50kbps.
I've done a speedtest, shite results.
    D/l: Around 400.
    u/l: around 300.

    :l
I really need your help, it's painful watching it go that slow. :(

Sounds more like you're getting shafted by your ISP than there being something wrong at your end. I feel your pain, brother.

Shafted by internet company; you're paying for the standard service and they're giving you a half-assed response.
It may fix itself soon, but once my internet got that shit, it was something to do with the wiring.

Shield, that what I assume it was before, 'cause if you look at the time, it wasn't that long before the 2nd one.

New ISP I guess. Need to find out how much we pay AOL a month and what speed we have.

    Oh yeah, oops.
AOL? I don't know my interwebs well, but aren't they pretty crummy? I assume you don't use their browser, yeah?

I use Firefox, which what I also did those speedtests on.

I'm downloading a bunch of xp updates now, not that'll do much difference but hopefully they might do something.

I feel bad for you, that's my internet speed when everyone's done with class and gets online, it slows to a crawl. :( Hope you get it fixed up.
Question: What's with the ping value?

I think I'm the only one who can legitimately be whining here. Virgin Media has an utter contempt for the average user.

And in answer to your question, ping is used to determine how long it takes for a query to reach another computer. General rule of thumb is the lower the number, the better the connection. It's all-important in online games-- much more important than connection speed.

Thanks. I'm pretty much speechless on yours though, it must take ages to download anything, idk, I'm sorry your isp is dicking you over that badly.
